Book Complex Function Theory

Download or read book Complex Function Theory written by Takeo Fujiwara and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2023-06-26 with total page 291 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The basics of complex functions will be explained for students of Engineering Sciences, with the aim of being able to use 'complex function theory' as a tool. The goal is not rigor as mathematics, but ease of use that may suit the application. Explanations are based on concrete examples rather than abstract general theory. The book starts from very beginning of complex numbers, and extends theory of Introduction to Elliptic Function and Hypergeometric Differential Equations.

  • Author : Ángel García-Alonso
  • Publisher : John Wiley & Sons
  • Release : 2011-04-27
  • ISBN : 1118002075
  • Pages : 432 pages

Download or read book Platelet Proteomics written by Ángel García-Alonso and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2011-04-27 with total page 432 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The purpose of the book is to introduce platelets, and their functional role in thrombotic and cardiovascular disease, justifying the relevance of platelet proteomics research. Focus then shifts to the recent developments on mass spectrometry (MS)-based proteomics. This chapter shows potential applications for platelet proteomics not yet carried out. It includes examples of post-translational modifications (PTMs) analysis in platelets. The second part of the book focuses on the main research done so far on platelet proteomics. This includes general proteome mapping by non-gel based separation methods (MudPit), analysis of the general platelet proteome and signaling cascades by gel-based separation methods (2-DE), sub-proteome analyses (secretome/releasate, membrane proteins, organelles). Finally, the last section links the platelet transcriptome and application to disease. This section is highly relevant and includes chapters on proteomics, transcriptomics, functional genomics, systems biology, and their applications to platelet-related diseases.

Book Measure Theory and Integration

Download or read book Measure Theory and Integration written by Michael Eugene Taylor and published by American Mathematical Soc.. This book was released on 2006 with total page 338 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This self-contained treatment of measure and integration begins with a brief review of the Riemann integral and proceeds to a construction of Lebesgue measure on the real line. From there the reader is led to the general notion of measure, to the construction of the Lebesgue integral on a measure space, and to the major limit theorems, such as the Monotone and Dominated Convergence Theorems. The treatment proceeds to $Lp$ spaces, normed linear spaces that are shown to be complete (i.e., Banach spaces) due to the limit theorems. Particular attention is paid to $L2$ spaces as Hilbert spaces, with a useful geometrical structure. Having gotten quickly to the heart of the matter, the text proceeds to broaden its scope. There are further constructions of measures, including Lebesgue measure on $n$-dimensional Euclidean space. There are also discussions of surface measure, and more generally of Riemannian manifolds and the measures they inherit, and an appendix on the integration ofdifferential forms. Further geometric aspects are explored in a chapter on Hausdorff measure. The text also treats probabilistic concepts, in chapters on ergodic theory, probability spaces and random variables, Wiener measure and Brownian motion, and martingales. This text will prepare graduate students for more advanced studies in functional analysis, harmonic analysis, stochastic analysis, and geometric measure theory.
