He knew it to be a question on which "much might be said on both sides: " and for this purpose he grappled unrestrained all the arguments within the compass of his memory, that might make for either side. By this means he has fully satisfied himself: and the same curiosity, which prompted this method of arrangement, in order to produce individual conviction, now induces him to bring the piece before the public, in order to find whether he can have the suffrage of the nation on his side.
