Book Thonner s analytical key to the families of flowering plants

Download or read book Thonner s analytical key to the families of flowering plants written by R. Geesink and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-11-11 with total page 257 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For the identification of a flowering plant the first step usually is to discover to which family it belongs. With some experience, the families commonly encountered in one's area of interest are soon known, but when dealing with specimens from other places, notably those from the vast and rich subtropics and tropics, there is much less certainty. The pertinent literature is often not readily available as it is often found only in expensive, rare or obscure books, or journals, present only in a few specialized institutes. Basically only a few keys to the families of flowering plants of the world have ever been produced, the best known of which at present is Hutchinson's Key to the families of flowering plants (1973); less well-known are Lemee's Tableau analytique des genres monocotyledones (1941) (incl. Gymnosperms) and his Tableau analytique des genres dicotyledones (1943), and Hansen and Rahn's Determination of Angiosperm families by means of a punched-card system (Dansk Bot. Ark. 26, 1969, with additions and corrections in Bot. Tidsskr. 67, 1972, 152-153, and Ibid. 74 1979, 177-178). Of note also are Davies and Cullen's The identification of flowering plant families, 2nd ed. (1979), which, however, deals only with the families native or cultivated in North Temperate regions, and Joly's Chaves de identifi~iio das familias de plantas vasculares que ocorrem no Brasil, 3rd ed. (1977), which may be useful in other tropical areas too.

Along the way, he discusses how cancer research evolved and how the perceptions of the disease and its impact on the world changed with each account. Book Team of Teams by General Stanley McChrystal Key Takeaways Analysis

Download or read book Team of Teams by General Stanley McChrystal Key Takeaways Analysis written by Instaread and published by Instaread Summaries. This book was released on 2015-09-29 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Team of Teams by General Stanley McChrystal | Key Takeaways & Analysis Preview: Team of Teams by General Stanley McChrystal is an examination of the process he began of restructuring the Joint Special Operations Command management style, from a rigid command structure to a cooperative team comprised of smaller specialized teams. While fighting Al-Qaeda in Iraq (AQI), General McChrystal noted how the United States and coalition militaries were efficient war-fighting machines, but they were not adaptable or effective against the seemingly disordered AQI. In 2005, after a particularly destructive terrorist attack at the opening of a sewage plant near Baghdad, McChrystal began considering whether the efficient structure was actually hindering the counterinsurgency, preventing them from responding to threats in real time and delaying the capture of AQI leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. Modern military management originated at the 1900 World's Fair, when Frederick Winslow Taylor revealed his work in steel production efficiency. Taylor believed that there is a right way to do any given thing… PLEASE NOTE: This is key takeaways and analysis of the book and NOT the original book. Book Plunder and Deceit by Mark R Levin Key Takeaways Analysis Review

Download or read book Plunder and Deceit by Mark R Levin Key Takeaways Analysis Review written by Instaread and published by Instaread Summaries. This book was released on 2015-08-24 with total page 35 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Plunder and Deceit: by Mark R. Levin | Key Takeaways, Analysis & Review Preview: Plunder and Deceit is about what author Mark R. Levin calls a threat to the United State’s experiment with democracy. At the heart of the threat is an executive branch of government that is running amok. Its leaders are well meaning, but they are trying to transform the US into a utopia by throwing trillions of dollars at the country’s social problems. The result is a national debt that has passed $18 trillion and continues growing. The soaring increase in debt is unsustainable. Sooner or later, the system will face financial collapse. When that happens, it will be future generations, not the current generation that is supporting the increased government spending, that will be left to pick up the pieces. Levin sees what’s happening as no less than a threat to US democracy. The reason the executive branch is running amok is that it has shattered the balance of power between the branches of government… PLEASE NOTE: This is Key Takeaways, Analysis & Review of the book and NOT the original book.
