Download or read book An Analytical Determination of the Radar Cross Section of Certain Missile like Configurations written by Robert J. Chynoweth and published by . This book was released on 1963 with total page 43 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This report is concerned with the description of the assumptions, methods, and equations used by the Advanced Systems Laboratory, USAMICOM, in the analytical determination of the radar cross section of various missile configurations. The method used is primarily that of physical optics. Examples, using the physical optics integral, are included. Two methods of computing the cross section are given: (1) phase addition - giving a complex pattern and, (2) random addition - giving an effective pattern. (Author).

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "This report presents the results of a study of the many features of generic missile configurations which control their radar backscattering cross-section. First, the radar cross-section as a function of aspect angle is determined for a simple right circular cylinder in a plane which contains the cylinder axis. This result obtained by the "relative-phase" method (see Report No. 70), is compared with measured data obtained at 9.8 GHz which was reported in the literature. Excellent agreement was obtained between the theoretical calculations and the available experimental data."--Introd.

Download or read book SCALE MODEL RADAR CROSS SECTION DATA SPACETRACK O AND M SIGNATURE ANALYSIS PROGRAM written by and published by . This book was released on 1963 with total page 85 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This document presents radar cross section curves for various satellite payload and tank type bodies. The bodies under consideration are bodies of revolution. Two classes of body shapes are considered - simple (cones, spheres, cylinders, etc.) and complex (constructed by mating the simple shapes into various configurations). The simple body-shape curves were originally obtained for use as input data for a radar cross section study program for the Ballistic Missile Early Warning System. The original input data, consisting of analog recordings referenced to various calibration levels, were obtained through scale model measurement programs at Radiation, Incorporated. In addition, Radiation, Incorporated conducted a similar study, on different objects, for Lincoln Laboratory who offered these results to RCA in support of the BMEWS Program. These records were digitized and reduced to the form given here as part of the BMEWS Program.

This book was released on 2017-10-28 with total page 54 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Uncertainty Analysis of Radar Cross Section Calibrations at Etcheron Valley Range The Etcheron Valley Range (evr) measures radar cross section of various targets provided by United States military and civilian customers. The evr currently Operates coherent ros measurement systems capable of measuring in the vhf, uhf, L, S, C, X, Ku and Ka bands (see Appendix A, Table a.i). The North 40 look - down slant range and the South 40 outdoor bounce range (see Figures are two fully operational sytems. Typical targets measured on these ranges are unmanned aerial vehicles, airplane components, air craft models and components, ship models and components, missiles and tactical ballistic missiles, very low - observable (vlo) articles, reentry vehicles, ground vehicles, rockets and rocket plumes. The North 40 range can also be used to simulate the ocean environment for measuring the ros of ship models and components. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "This report presents the results of a study which was made to define mathematical models of the radar back-scattering characteristics of a group of mobile, ground based radar antennas. A composite math model was developed for each of ten specific radar antenna configurations which comprised single or multiple parabolic "dishes" or parabolic reflector sections which are mounted on mobile trailers or vans. Radar antennas mounted on tanks are also included, and the total group of equipments of which models were developed is shown in the frontispiece."--Introduction.
