However, the leader of the fleeing Cuians, Senator Irrik Isadore, is pressured by her people to make the Lledumar subjects of the Cuians so the they can remain the superior species in this part of space. She is torn between honour and duty, but eventually relents. Relenting, she kills Cuian trustworthiness, and, in doing so, brings unsettled Lledumarian subservience and vendetta.
