Book excerpt: "Amelia Earhart: The Sparrow Flys" © NEW RELEASE > DIGITAL SCRIPT Amelia Earhart - Friends Read Free PREVIEW: This is the 1930's - A very very precarious time of World uncertainties - power plays between Germany, Japan, and Spain. Our Military Generals are running a muck trying to out guest those plays and that includes staying ahead of uncertainties with a little more then carrier pigeons to work with when information is viable to the United States while Germany and Japan are getting friendly with one another in stages for an all out war but with whom - us are themselves? And about that mention information - how do you get that information? Well, with spies of course - that's where the power lies, guys - in information - you're hoping at all times that you have the upper hand - tracking down their latest war machines and materials on the ground and in the air - the things that would give you an advantage is what you need at all times. However, if your pilots are caught in necessary emergency landings - they're over there and we're over here and sooner or later they'll paraded those young pilots in crisp clean uniforms - ours - before world news media out lets. Up coming enemies know how to do just that and later after the draining brutalities those young pilots will receive for spying then they are eventually roll out onto the streets for spying - again before the media. This is an anxious and panicking time for those higher ups in Washington and the CIA. Especially, if those bodies rolled out onto the streets in United States Air Force uniforms - have clot back here in the States. Families with lots of Political pull and contacts in Washington...Ouch! Now, all this brings us to 'planes in the skies' - this was the new stuff - 'new planes' - with young military pilots with standout 'talents' - 'trained' - in how to scoop in - relay that information and get the hell out of there! However, there are not enough of these 'trained' young talented pilots trained in 'duration' - this here is called 'duration' talent in that flying metal box in the sky. This is the key 'duration'. I'll say it again so that you're not missing anything, here - 'Duration'. Staying up there high in the sky above any detection from the ground or the sea for long periods of time in all kinds of freezing weather with all kinds of calls on the body. You can't just get up and walk around after just covering a lot of territory up there - you can't land and stretch - you're in hostile territory. Duration is whats needed here, there's that word again - 'duration' - in the cockpit of that metal box in the sky - night or day. Without it you fall out of the sky like a cut lose 'paper kite' in the park on any Sunday afternoon. And now all the flying parts are in enemy hands and not in your favorite park. That poor young pilot never got the chance to wake up. These are the best of the best young military talents in the skies. Just plunked out of the Academy by slick Military Generals and place into the spy game that should not have been! Parents with relatives on the Senate Intelligent Committee want to know why and why and now! Ouch! But, what if the best award winning pilot in the United States is a young world renown brilliant individualist just interested in winning and setting new goals in that 'duration' in the skies and is a master at it and is not a military pilot; but a woman. Ahhh, shit! But wait a minute I'm getting ahead of myself in the story, here. A story about that woman - Amelia Earhart. A wonderful one in its own rite with exciting moments of growing up. Her first sighting of a plane with her sister at her side breaking loose running for her life while Amelia stood her ground looking straight ahead as the pilot bared down on her and only at the last moment did the pilot pull up. Laughing and in a beat the pilot sticks a hand out the cockpit window and gives Amelia a thumps up. Then there's the colorful father - a mother as all mothers do with loving care. The sister we've already meant - then there's that wonderful large black dog that Amelia from day one love. Another moment here, please. While Mother Earhart was dealing with another door to door salesmen - this time a puppy wrangler. Amelia, in her room up stairs hears all the commotion of whining puppies. Amelia shoots down into the goings on and in a beat reaches down in the puppy box grabs a black puppy then just as quick moves back up stairs. All this of course to the delight of the puppy wrangler - nothing better than a satisfied customer - Mother Earhart reaches into her apron for her coin purse for a rumbled up two dollar bill - an excellent watch dog needed is the wrangler's continued pitch - as the whining continues in the box - with a puppy brother or sister removed; Amelia hears same as her selected puppy whines down a response. Next, Amelia is rushing back down stairs with her selected Puppy in hand - as Amelia is not at all wanting to be a willing part to a Puppy family separation. The Wrangler turns pale - he knows when he see's a dissatisfied customer and not yet when the payment has reached his hand. Amelia places her Puppy back in the box - to the delight of her Mother - then picks up the Box full of puppies and scrambles back up stairs now with complete quiet in the puppy family box. The Wrangler spots Amelia's five dollar bill on the floor and now with the Mothers two dollar bill he makes a quick exit. Mother Earhart wants to know what are we going to do with house full of Puppies and what will your Father, say? I'll tell you what he's going to say - that we're all going to wits end, here. In days to come Amelia with here sister has mapped out a selection of neighbor homes for Puppy Placements. And on a bike with her sister holding on for dear life with a box full of puppies. The two are now the new Puppy Wranglers. At the end of a successful run all that is left is one black puppy in the box. On a quick stop. Amelia lets out a scream when she realizes that they also gave away her beloved choice. They were all black puppies from the same litter - this is an easy mistake to make but the one left in the box is not Amelia's. The two pile back on the bike - make a screaming run - to correct the damage done. Racing back as they are Amelia has a view from the bike of a Mother dropping off a puppy in a box at her front gate with a tag sign reading - 'free puppy'. Another look reveals two young boys anxiously involved - peering from a window - as mother has made a deal - if the puppy is still in the box at sun down - the puppy is theirs. Delighted, Amelia picks up the puppy at the gate and with tears in her eyes she hugs the licking her face puppy. Drops off the other puppy in the box to the delight of the two young faces in the window. Sister Earhart has a further caution. How do we know since they were are all black puppies that this one is the one you selected? Amelia accepts the caution looks the puppy in the face then gives Sister Earhart a look see with the question attached to the look - what color is his eyes? Sister Earhart looks and replies - blue. Right, he was the only one of the litter with blue eyes. Sister Earhart takes another look just to be sure - in return she gets a multitude of in the face - puppy licks. High over head the muffled sounds of an Airplane is making a pass over - Amelia looks up and holds that look for a long moment. Sister Earhart continues to be on the receiving end of more puppy licks. Later Amelia will make another run at sun down to check to see if the puppy left in the box is still on a give away. No box but in the front yard are the two young boys with - their - puppy in play. After all It was sun down. Blackie, as he is called - he is also called 'James Fer-roc -ious' and grows up to be her best buddy in the Cockpit. Get ready, later we'll meet Father Earhart along with other amazing characters; as the story unfolds. Inspired by a true story.
