Book Spanish Sentences Vol 1

Download or read book Spanish Sentences Vol 1 written by Nik Marcel and published by 2Language Books. This book was released on with total page 1010 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: SPANISH SENTENCES Vol.1: English & Spanish THIS EDITION: The dual-language text has been arranged into sentences for quick and easy cross-referencing. The text can be used on its own. However, the content is ideal for reinforcing grammar, and as a precursor to more advanced bilingual editions. This digital edition contains the content in ‘English to Spanish’ and ‘Spanish to English’ formats. Once a student has studied the basics, a suitable book about basic grammar is helpful. The suggestion is that it be studied more with the intent of recognition and understanding, rather than memorising and obsessive rote learning. Go through as much of the book you feel you can digest — maybe even the whole book — skipping over what is not easily understood. Then, read through a portion of text in this book, looking for examples of what you have picked up (or gleaned) in your hopefully not so arduous study of grammar. Even repeatedly seeing a word that you remember seeing listed as a ‘subject pronoun’ or a ‘third person plural’ verb of some sort is a great help. Then, depending on your inclination, return to the grammar book (or your basic Spanish book), or move on to lengthier bilingual text — like in 2Language Books texts containing news or stories, for example —, or find some suitable Spanish text: a simple novel, a Spanish news website, etc. Grammar books will likely have some verb charts. However, there are currently good on-line resources that go further — dictionaries with a verb conjugation ‘search’ option. Many basic language books offer some form of audio support. Internet services — primarily news based radio stations — offer podcasts. Audio from television is an additional resource, and can be formatted for use on various digital platforms. However, if audio is an important component of your interest in languages, electronic devices that support quality text-to-speech (TTS) will likely be appealing. With a library card, TTS technology (in a device that supports the relevant content), and the above mentioned resources, an entire language learning system is available for not much more than a cup of coffee! There is no substantial financial outlay to get you started. Furthermore, there are no additional ongoing fees (and updates), and there are no expiry dates on ‘premium’ content and resources. Book Shape Up Sisters

Download or read book Shape Up Sisters written by Linda Fondren and published by Rodale. This book was released on 2014-05-06 with total page 242 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Straight talk and a simple, no-fail diet and exercise plan for those who think they don't have the money or time to lose weight Linda Fondren, one of 11 children born to a single mother in the poorest and fattest state in America, watched the consequences of obesity ruin her sister's life—and was moved to open a gym in her hometown of Vicksburg, Mississippi with the motto "positively reshaping women." Then, witnessing how many middle- and low-income Vicksburg residents were brought up short in their fitness and health efforts by limited budgets and time, Fondren responded by striking at the root problem. In 2009, she spearheaded Shape Up Vicksburg, a City Hall–supported program in which she convinced the local hospital to offer free health screenings, restaurants to create low-cal menu options, and Wal-Mart to host weigh-in stations. Fondren signed up 10 percent of Vicksburg's 25,000 residents, most of who were taking charge of their health and nutrition for the first time. They lost over 15,000 lbs. in just 17 weeks. Shape Up Sisters! is a get-healthy prescription for regular people with jobs, budgets, and real-life challenges. Here are tactics for sedentary readers to become physically active with advice, recipes, and meal plans for improving eating habits on a budget. Fondren wraps it all in her empowering personal story and the uplifting tales of women who have changed their lives by following her simple strategies. With Fondren's approachable personality and practical advice, Shape Up Sisters! is both an easy-to-use guide and a bold statement in the greater national narrative about improving health and weight loss across socioeconomic lines.

Download or read book Beverly Hills Adjacent written by Jennifer Steinhauer and published by St. Martin's Press. This book was released on 2010-04-13 with total page 320 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: During pilot season, June Dietz's husband Mitch Gold becomes another man—a man who doesn't notice her delicious Farmers Market homemade dinners, who mumbles responses around the tooth-whitening trays in his mouth, who is consumed with envy for his fellow television actors, who pants for a return phone call from his agent. And who wants to be married to an abject, paranoid, oblivious mess? Possibly not June, whose job as a poetry professor at UCLA makes her in but not of Los Angeles, with its illogical pecking order and relentless tribal customs. Even their daughter Nora's allegedly innocent world isn't immune from one upsmanship: while Mitch is bested for acting jobs by the casually confident (and so very L.A.) Willie Dermot, June is tormented by Willie's insufferably uptight wife Larissa and the other stay-at-home exercisers in the preschool. Could Rich Friend be the answer? Smart, age-appropriate, bookish—and a wildly successful television producer—Rich focuses on June the way nobody has since she moved to Los Angeles, and there's nothing for June to do but wallow in what she's been missing. But what's the next step? How does a regular person decide between husband and lover, family and fantasy? Set in a Los Angeles you haven't read about before, Beverly Hills Adjacent is that rare thing: a laugh-out-loud novel with heart.
