Sao apresentados dois exemplos de processos de vigilancia em saude dos trabalhadores, um em um ramo de atividade, e outro em um complexo industrial de alto risco, destacando a relacao entre a vigilancia popular e a vigilancia epidemiologica como elemento da vigilancia em saude do trabalhador, no primeiro exemplo, e os conflitos e as estrategias relacionados as concepcoes teoricas do campo da relacao trabalho e saude, no segundo.
