Book excerpt: This book shows the original German camouflage of vehicles used by the Deutsche Afrika Korps, with color variants throughout the war. We look at German Army vehicle colours for the African campaign, including the European Dark Gray (RAL 7021) in which they arrived to Libya. This continues through to the initial camouflage colours, Yellow-Brown RAL 8000 with Green-Gray spots RAL 7008 (in 1941), and the new Yellow-Brown RAL 8020 and Sand Gray RAL 7027, used from 1942. We also include a selection of Italian vehicles, often forgotten, which fought alongside the Germans against the Allies from 1941 to 1943. This is supplemented by the addition of allied vehicles serving with the Axis troops, with some curious American halftracks on a doublepage spread, with distinctive German markings, from 1943. Over 170 profiles cover schemes from the most common camouflage to the most original and unusual vehicles used by the DAK and Regio Esercito, including major artillery pieces used in Africa, highlighting above all the powerful 88 mm Flak 18/36/37. Through the 108 pages of this book, you will find inspiration for your next African modelling project; projects that you can enhance further with the AK 550 Africa Korps Colors Acrylic Set, and the AK 068 DAK Weathering Set.

Book 3 7 Flak 18 36 37

Download or read book 3 7 Flak 18 36 37 written by Alan Ranger and published by Camera on. This book was released on 2020-02-19 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This new photo album is number 20 in the MMPBooks/Stratus "Camera On" series and is the first to cover an anti-aircraft weapon alone and whilst there have been a few books covering medium German 37mm Flak weapons before the 37 mm Flak 18/36/37 has never been covered in such photographic depth, this truly historically significant weapon along with the other German 37 mm weapons it evolved into are illustrated in this book that contains 160+ photographs. Nearly all of the photos being from the authors collection that were originally taken by ordinary German soldiers not professional propagandists. In this volume we endeavour to show this rarely illustrated equipment in detail but still show it as the soldiers viewed it as both their work place and in some cases also their home, not the highly posed and polished views of the official photographers. This book is an invaluable reference for military historians and modellers alike.

Book Toxicology of Pesticides

    Book Details:
  • Author : Lucio G. Costa
  • Publisher : Springer Science & Business Media
  • Release : 2013-06-29
  • ISBN : 3642708986
  • Pages : 316 pages

Download or read book Toxicology of Pesticides written by Lucio G. Costa and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-06-29 with total page 316 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The protection of human health and food and fiber resources against the ravages of pests of many sorts is a continuous struggle by all people in the world. The use of chemical pesticides as an aid in this struggle is now also global. These chemicals are deliberately added to the environment for the purpose of killing or injuring some form of life. Because pesticides are generally less selectively toxic than would be desired, non-target species, including humans, must be protected from injury by these chemicals. This can only be achieved by thorough understanding of the comparative toxicology of these compounds, and by minimizing human (and other desirable species) exposure. The latter can only be achieved by sound regulatory policies that utilize scientific principles and data, properly tempered by both gaps in that data and sociologic and economic considerations. This book contains the proceedings of the NATO Advanced Study Institute on "Toxicology of Pesticides: Experimental, Clinical and Regulatory Perspectives" held in Riva del Garda on October 6-15, 1986. This NATO-ASI has been promoted by the School of Public Health and Community Medicine, University of Washington at Seattle, by the Institute of Pharmacological Sciences, University of Milano and by the Giovanni Lorenzini Foundation, and has been sponsored by both the Society of Toxicology (USA) and the Italian Society of Toxicology.
