Book Flawless Execution

Download or read book Flawless Execution written by James D. Murphy and published by Harper Collins. This book was released on 2010-11-16 with total page 240 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Your business can take a lesson from the American military's fighter pilots. At Mach 2, the instrument panel of an F-15 is screaming out information, the horizon is a blur, the wingman is occupied, the jet is hanging on the edge -- and yet fighter pilots routinely handle the stress. It's not much different in today's unforgiving business world. One slipup and your company is bankrupt before your employees know what hit them. What works on the squadron level for F-15 pilots will also work for your marketing team, sales force, or research and development group. By analyzing the work environment and attacking its centers of gravity in parallel, you'll begin to utilize the Plan-Brief-Execute-Debrief-Win cycle that will rapidly impact your business's future success. U.S. fighter squadrons have been using this program for nearly fifty years to reduce their mistake rate, cut casualties and equipment losses, and rack up an envious victory record. Now, with Flawless Execution, your business can too.

Book Cooling Characteristics of a Transpiration cooled Afterburner with a Porous Wall of Brazed and Rolled Wire Cloth

Download or read book Cooling Characteristics of a Transpiration cooled Afterburner with a Porous Wall of Brazed and Rolled Wire Cloth written by William K. Koffel and published by . This book was released on 1954 with total page 76 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Abstract: Cooling data from this experimental afterburner are successfully correlated over a range of Reynolds number based on the distance downstream of the leading edge of the porous wall. Calculations based on the correlation indicate that the combustion-chamber cooling-air requirements for an exhaust-gas temperature of 3700° R are only 16 percent of the air required for conventional forced-convection cooling. The cooling-air requirements were nearly independent of flight condition, but close control of cooling-air pressure is required at high flight speeds.

Book Gas Turbine Propulsion Systems

Download or read book Gas Turbine Propulsion Systems written by Bernie MacIsaac and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2011-08-29 with total page 350 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Major changes in gas turbine design, especially in the design and complexity of engine control systems, have led to the need for an up to date, systems-oriented treatment of gas turbine propulsion. Pulling together all of the systems and subsystems associated with gas turbine engines in aircraft and marine applications, Gas Turbine Propulsion Systems discusses the latest developments in the field. Chapters include aircraft engine systems functional overview, marine propulsion systems, fuel control and power management systems, engine lubrication and scavenging systems, nacelle and ancillary systems, engine certification, unique engine systems and future developments in gas turbine propulsion systems. The authors also present examples of specific engines and applications. Written from a wholly practical perspective by two authors with long careers in the gas turbine & fuel systems industries, Gas Turbine Propulsion Systems provides an excellent resource for project and program managers in the gas turbine engine community, the aircraft OEM community, and tier 1 equipment suppliers in Europe and the United States. It also offers a useful reference for students and researchers in aerospace engineering.
