Book Centrifugal Compressors

    Book Details:
  • Author : Ronald H. Aungier
  • Publisher : American Society of Mechanical Engineers
  • Release : 2000
  • ISBN :
  • Pages : 336 pages

Download or read book Centrifugal Compressors written by Ronald H. Aungier and published by American Society of Mechanical Engineers. This book was released on 2000 with total page 336 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A mechanical engineer with a Pennsylvania turbomachinery company, A ungier describes his own system and strategy for designing and analyzing centrifugal compressor aerodynamics. To address the novice as well as the experienced in the field, he presents the basic thermodynamic and fluid dynamic principles, empirical models, and key numerical methods that form the basis of his methods. His strategy, or design practice, he found harder to describe because it involves a process of reasoning rather than following an established set of principles. He recognizes that his is only one of many possible methods, but makes no effort to compare or contrast his with any other.

Book Cold air Performance of Compressor drive Turbine of Department of Energy Upgraded Automobile Gas Turbine Engine 1 Volute manifold and Stator Performance

Download or read book Cold air Performance of Compressor drive Turbine of Department of Energy Upgraded Automobile Gas Turbine Engine 1 Volute manifold and Stator Performance written by and published by . This book was released on 1981 with total page 24 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The aerodynamic performance of the inlet manifold and stator assembly of the compressor-drive turbine was experimentally determined with cold air as the working fluid. The investigation included measurements of mass flow and stator-exit fluid torque as well as radial surveys of total pressure and flow angle at the stator inlet and annulus surveys of total pressure and flow angle at the stator exit. The stator-exit aftermixed flow conditions and overall stator efficiency were obtained and compared with their design values and the experimental results from three other stators. In addition, an analysis was made to determine the constituent aerodynamic losses that made up the stator kinetic energy loss. (Author).

Book Axial Turbine Aerodynamics for Aero engines

Download or read book Axial Turbine Aerodynamics for Aero engines written by Zhengping Zou and published by Springer. This book was released on 2018-01-11 with total page 572 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is a monograph on aerodynamics of aero-engine gas turbines focusing on the new progresses on flow mechanism and design methods in the recent 20 years. Starting with basic principles in aerodynamics and thermodynamics, this book systematically expounds the recent research on mechanisms of flows in axial gas turbines, including high pressure and low pressure turbines, inter-turbine ducts and turbine rear frame ducts, and introduces the classical and innovative numerical evaluation methods in different dimensions. This book also summarizes the latest research achievements in the field of gas turbine aerodynamic design and flow control, and the multidisciplinary conjugate problems involved with gas turbines. This book should be helpful for scientific and technical staffs, college teachers, graduate students, and senior college students, who are involved in research and design of gas turbines.

Book Axial flow Compressors

    Book Details:
  • Author : Ronald H. Aungier
  • Publisher : American Society of Mechanical Engineers
  • Release : 2003
  • ISBN :
  • Pages : 386 pages

Download or read book Axial flow Compressors written by Ronald H. Aungier and published by American Society of Mechanical Engineers. This book was released on 2003 with total page 386 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides a thorough description of an aerodynamic design and analysis systems for Axial-Flow Compressors. It describes the basic fluid dynamic and thermodynamic principles, empirical models and numerical methods used for the full range of procedures and analytical tools that an engineer needs for virtually any tupe of Axial-Flow Compressor, aerodynamic design or analysis activity. It reviews and evaluates several design strategies that have been recommended in the literature or which have been found to be effective. It gives a complete description of an actual working system, such that readers can implement all or part of the system. Engineers responsible for developing, maintaining of improving design and analysis systems can benefit greatly from this type of reference. The technology has become so complex and the role of computers so pervasive that about the only way this can be done today is to concentrate on a specific design and analysis system. The author provides practical methodology as well as the details needed to implement the suggested procedures.
