What are some of the more significant reasons why stomach discomfort could occur? There are occasions when abdomen discomfort is an indication of a significant medical issue that needs care. When you feel pain in a different part of your body, it might mean that a separate organ is affected. Take, for example: Right upper quadrant The liver, gallbladder, and bile ducts are all located in the upper right side of your belly. The rear of your body houses your right kidney. In addition, the first portions of both your small and your big intestines go through here. Pain in the upper right quadrant of the abdomen is most frequently caused by liver disease or gallbladder disease, such as: (alcoholic, toxic, metabolic, viral or autoimmune). - Gallstones. - Inflammation of the cholecystium (gallbladder inflammation). - Cancer of the bile duct, as well as stones and strictures. - Gallbladder cancer. The disease of the liver. It's also possible that you have a localized issue in your right kidney, ascending colon, or duodenum, such as a kidney infection or ascending colonitis. - Stone in the kidney - Duodenal ulcer. - A blockage in the large intestine. Left upper quadrant The stomach, pancreas, and spleen are all located in the upper left side of your belly. In the very rear of your abdominal cavity is where your left kidney is located, and just above it is where your heart and left lung are located. Pain located in the upper left quadrant of the abdomen may indicate: (inflamed pancreas). - Cancer of the pancreas. - Splenomegaly (enlarged spleen). - Gastritis. - Stomach ulcer. - Bile reflux. The most common cause of pain in this area is a problem with the digestive system. It's also possible that it's connected to your ureters, ovaries, or uterus. Irritable bowel syndrome is one of the reasons of abdominal pain. a condition known as functional dyspepsia - Inflammatory bowel disease, which includes Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. - A blockage in either the large or the small intestine. - Small intestinal cancer. - Malignancy of the colon. - Abdominal aortic aneurysm. - Peritonitis. - Lymphadenitis affecting the mesentery - Ischemic colitis of the small intestine (mesenteric). - Hernia. - Bladder or kidney stones.
