Being a doctor means being only a 'doctor' because a doctor in my case is just a prefix to my name and nothing else. From the introductory speech (Before the Beginning) to the summary (The Epilogue), I shall open from the very start i.e. from my birth till today. I live in a world where the laws of one heroic act after another are just unfitting due to a disability. But I find the real disability in people who can't find joy in life and are bitter and malevolent. If you have a disability... whatever it takes, don't be mean to people. There is a plan and a purpose behind every act, no matter what is it's location, place or time. A genuine friend knows your weaknesses but shows you your strengths; feels your fears but fortifies your faith; sees your anxieties but frees your spirit; recognizes your disabilities but emphasizes your possibilities.

Byrd's just-released private papers. Previous books on the legendary polar explorer had to rely on sources subject to the admiral's vigilant censorship or the control of his heirs and friends. With this study Eugene Rodgers provides a scrupulously honest and objective account of Byrd's 1929 expedition to Antarctica. Without discrediting the expedition's success or Byrd's leadership, Rodgers shows that the admiral was not the saintly hero he and the press depicted. Nor was the expedition without its problems. Interviews with surviving members of the expedition together with a wealth of other new material indicate that Byrd, contrary to his claims, was not a good navigator--his pilots usually had to find their way by dead reckoning--and that he was not on the actual flight that discovered Marie Byrd Land. The book further reveals a crisis over drunkenness among the men (including Byrd), the admiral's fear of mutiny, and his rewriting of news stories from the pole to embellish his own image.

He reiterated this "finden" in 1916, writing, "...We conclude that in the theory of relativity the velocity c plays the part of a limiting velocity, which can neither be reached nor exceeded by any real body." Poincare and Lorentz did not share Einstein's view. Then in a 1921 lecture and a 1922 book, "Sidelights on Relativity," Einstein wrote (pp. 35-6), "Poincare is right. The idea of the measuring-rod and the idea of the clock coordinated with it in the theory of relativity do not find their exact correspondence in the real world." Thus the light barrier was questioned by the same man who erected it, and the last theoretical obstacle to practical star travel was lifted; but few noticed. Fifty years later Mendel Sachs wrote about Einstein's "change of mind," again in 1985, 1993, and at other times; but Sachs' writings were scorned. The first author became aware of Sachs' writings in 2004 and the two exchanged views for a time. This book presents a hard-science case for practical star travel. The first six chapters lay it all out in a logical and factual manner consistent with the theory of relativity. Chapters 7 and 8 outline a "Grand Experiment" designed to probe the light barrier. Chapters 7-9 contain future-fiction accounts of possible scenarios of Humanity's first swaddling steps to the stars. Chapter 10 presents a separate argument questioning the idea of an absolute light barrier.
