Book Advances in Inequalities for Special Functions

Download or read book Advances in Inequalities for Special Functions written by Pietro Cerone and published by . This book was released on 2008 with total page 186 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is the first in a collection of research monographs that are devoted to presenting recent research, development and use of Mathematical Inequalities for Special Functions. All the papers incorporated in the book have peen peer-reviewed and cover a range of topics that include both survey material of previously published works as well as new results. In his presentation on special functions approximations and bounds via integral representation, Pietro Cerone utilises the classical Stevensen inequality and bounds for the Ceby sev functional to obtain bounds for some classical special functions. The methodology relies on determining bounds on integrals of products of functions. The techniques are used to obtain novel and useful bounds for the Bessel function of the first kind, the Beta function, the Zeta function and Mathieu series.

Book Advances in Inequalities for Series

Download or read book Advances in Inequalities for Series written by Sever Silvestru Dragomir and published by Nova Publishers. This book was released on 2008 with total page 252 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This research monograph, deals with identities and inequalities relating to series and their application. This is the first volume of research monographs on advances in inequalities for series. All of the papers in this volume have been fully peer reviewed. Some papers in this volume appear in print for the first time, detailing many technical results and some other papers offer a review of a number of recently published results. The papers appear in author alphabetical order and not in mathematics subject classification. There are fifteen diverse papers in this volume each with its own speciality. An important issue in many applications of Probability Theory is finding an approximate measure of distance, or discrimination, between two probability distributions. A number of divergence measures for this purpose have been proposed.

Book Advances in Inequalities of the Schwarz Gr ss and Bessel Type in Inner Product Spaces

Download or read book Advances in Inequalities of the Schwarz Gr ss and Bessel Type in Inner Product Spaces written by Sever Silvestru Dragomir and published by Nova Publishers. This book was released on 2005 with total page 266 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The theory of Hilbert spaces plays a central role in contemporary mathematics with numerous applications for Linear Operators, Partial Differential Equations, in Nonlinear Analysis, Approximation Theory, Optimisation Theory, Numerical Analysis, Probability Theory, Statistics and other fields. The Schwarz, triangle, Bessel, Gram and most recently, Grüss type inequalities have been frequently used as powerful tools in obtaining bounds or estimating the errors for various approximation formulae occurring in the domains mentioned above. Therefore, any new advancement related to these fundamental facts will have a flow of important consequences in the mathematical fields where these inequalities have been used before.

Book Special Functions and Analysis of Differential Equations

Download or read book Special Functions and Analysis of Differential Equations written by Praveen Agarwal and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2020-09-08 with total page 349 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Differential Equations are very important tools in Mathematical Analysis. They are widely found in mathematics itself and in its applications to statistics, computing, electrical circuit analysis, dynamical systems, economics, biology, and so on. Recently there has been an increasing interest in and widely-extended use of differential equations and systems of fractional order (that is, of arbitrary order) as better models of phenomena in various physics, engineering, automatization, biology and biomedicine, chemistry, earth science, economics, nature, and so on. Now, new unified presentation and extensive development of special functions associated with fractional calculus are necessary tools, being related to the theory of differentiation and integration of arbitrary order (i.e., fractional calculus) and to the fractional order (or multi-order) differential and integral equations. This book provides learners with the opportunity to develop an understanding of advancements of special functions and the skills needed to apply advanced mathematical techniques to solve complex differential equations and Partial Differential Equations (PDEs). Subject matters should be strongly related to special functions involving mathematical analysis and its numerous applications. The main objective of this book is to highlight the importance of fundamental results and techniques of the theory of complex analysis for differential equations and PDEs and emphasizes articles devoted to the mathematical treatment of questions arising in physics, chemistry, biology, and engineering, particularly those that stress analytical aspects and novel problems and their solutions. Specific topics include but are not limited to Partial differential equations Least squares on first-order system Sequence and series in functional analysis Special functions related to fractional (non-integer) order control systems and equations Various special functions related to generalized fractional calculus Operational method in fractional calculus Functional analysis and operator theory Mathematical physics Applications of numerical analysis and applied mathematics Computational mathematics Mathematical modeling This book provides the recent developments in special functions and differential equations and publishes high-quality, peer-reviewed book chapters in the area of nonlinear analysis, ordinary differential equations, partial differential equations, and related applications.

Download or read book Analytic Inequalities written by B.G. Pachpatte and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-01-05 with total page 310 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For more than a century, the study of various types of inequalities has been the focus of great attention by many researchers, interested both in the theory and its applications. In particular, there exists a very rich literature related to the well known Cebysev, Gruss, Trapezoid, Ostrowski, Hadamard and Jensen type inequalities. The present monograph is an attempt to organize recent progress related to the above inequalities, which we hope will widen the scope of their applications. The field to be covered is extremely wide and it is impossible to treat all of these here. The material included in the monograph is recent and hard to find in other books. It is accessible to any reader with a reasonable background in real analysis and an acquaintance with its related areas. All results are presented in an elementary way and the book could also serve as a textbook for an advanced graduate course. The book deserves a warm welcome to those who wish to learn the subject and it will also be most valuable as a source of reference in the field. It will be invaluable reading for mathematicians and engineers and also for graduate students, scientists and scholars wishing to keep abreast of this important area of research.

Book Advanced Calculus Revised Edition

Download or read book Advanced Calculus Revised Edition written by Lynn Harold Loomis and published by World Scientific Publishing Company. This book was released on 2014-02-26 with total page 595 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An authorised reissue of the long out of print classic textbook, Advanced Calculus by the late Dr Lynn Loomis and Dr Shlomo Sternberg both of Harvard University has been a revered but hard to find textbook for the advanced calculus course for decades. This book is based on an honors course in advanced calculus that the authors gave in the 1960's. The foundational material, presented in the unstarred sections of Chapters 1 through 11, was normally covered, but different applications of this basic material were stressed from year to year, and the book therefore contains more material than was covered in any one year. It can accordingly be used (with omissions) as a text for a year's course in advanced calculus, or as a text for a three-semester introduction to analysis. The prerequisites are a good grounding in the calculus of one variable from a mathematically rigorous point of view, together with some acquaintance with linear algebra. The reader should be familiar with limit and continuity type arguments and have a certain amount of mathematical sophistication. As possible introductory texts, we mention Differential and Integral Calculus by R Courant, Calculus by T Apostol, Calculus by M Spivak, and Pure Mathematics by G Hardy. The reader should also have some experience with partial derivatives. In overall plan the book divides roughly into a first half which develops the calculus (principally the differential calculus) in the setting of normed vector spaces, and a second half which deals with the calculus of differentiable manifolds.
