Book Our Authorized Bible Vindicated

Download or read book Our Authorized Bible Vindicated written by Benjamin George Wilkinson and published by . This book was released on 2005-11-15 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The all-time bestseller; the most translated book; the most controversial title--The Bible. Throughout the ages this precious book has been both persecuted and preserved, yet many today question the inspiration of the Bible as their faith weakens, and the Biblical fundamentals on which our modern day society depend crumble. This book was written to confirm and establish faith in the true infallible word of God. Today more than ever is a need to return to the authentic roots of our spiritual foundations. With the lines between the true and the false becoming blurred to unrecognition, it is imperative we can discern the accurate. Satan is working overtime to the point, if it were possible, he would decieve the very elect. Faulty Bible translations exist which draw minds away from the truth to the deceiver. Our Authorized Bible Vindicated explores the history of the bible throughout the centuries and how it has been preserved in its entirety untainted. The reader will be lead on a journey back to a solid belief in the true word of God and how to discern it from the false.

Book excerpt: "Beauvoir in Time situates Simone de Beauvoir's The Second Sex in the historical context of its writing and in later contexts of its international reception, from then till now. The book takes up three aspects of Beauvoir's work more recent feminists find embarrassing: "bad sex," "dated" views about lesbians, and intersections with race and class. Through close reading of her writing in many genres, alongside contemporaneous discourses (good and bad novels in French and English, outmoded psychoanalytic and sexological authorities, ethnographic surrealism, the writing of Richard Wright and Franz Fanon), and in light of her travels to the U.S. and China, the author uncovers insights more recent feminist methodologies obscure, showing Beauvoir is still good to think with today"--

Book Our Authorized Bible Answers to Objections

Download or read book Our Authorized Bible Answers to Objections written by Benjamin George Wilkinson and published by TEACH Services, Inc.. This book was released on 2017-06-08 with total page 306 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Back in 1930, B.G. Wilkinson published Our Authorized Bible Vindicated. Some of his college colleagues took exception to his book and criticized it publicly. Since Wilkinson, who was a professor in one of our colleges, was having his scholarship questioned, it was mandatory that he reply. This book is his reply to their "review " and criticism. It literally "downs" them on every argument. Since feelings and rivalry were running high, the General Conference of those days requestioned Wilkinson to not publish this work. He agreed. Since the individuals concerned are no longer on the scene, and since the issue of modern versions is now a very important topic, we feel that this work should be available to students. At the time Our Authorized Bible Vindicated was published, the NIV had not come on the scene. Wilkinson's main concern was with the Revised Version and the American Revision, both springing from the works of Westcott and Hort (on the RV). All modern versions also have taken their basis from the Westcott-Hort Greek Text. It is time we re-examined their sources and reasoning.

Book Topical Themes in Argumentation Theory

Download or read book Topical Themes in Argumentation Theory written by Frans H. van Eemeren and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-05-05 with total page 339 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Topical Themes in Argumentation Theory brings together twenty exploratory studies on important subjects of research in contemporary argumentation theory. The essays are based on papers that were presented at the 7th Conference of the International Society for the Study of Argumentation (ISSA) in Amsterdam in June 2010. They give an impression of the nature and the variety of the kind of research that has recently been carried out in the study of argumentation. The volume starts with three essays that provide stimulating theoretical perspectives on argumentation. Subsequently, some views are explained on the intriguing topics of ‘dissensus’ and ‘deep disagreement’. After a discussion of three different approaches to the treatment of types of argumentation some classical themes from antique argumentation theory are revisited. The new research area of visual argumentation is explored in the next part. The volume concludes with three reports of experimental studies concerning argumentative discourse.
