Book El problema del embarazo en la adolescencia Contribuciones a un debate

Download or read book El problema del embarazo en la adolescencia Contribuciones a un debate written by Claudio Stern and published by El Colegio de Mexico AC. This book was released on 2012 with total page 445 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Latin America s New Left and the Politics of Gender

Download or read book Latin America s New Left and the Politics of Gender written by Karen Kampwirth and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2011-07-26 with total page 52 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The majority of Latin Americans now live in countries that are governed by democratically elected governments on the political left, which is unprecedented in that region. This book analyzes this occurrence by asking a question that up until now has been largely ignored in the literature on the contemporary Latin American left: to what extent have these governments governed with, and promoting the interests of, the women's movements that are an important part of their base of support? This question is examined by focusing on a critical case that is rarely analyzed in the literature on the new Latin American left, the case of Nicaragua. The broader implications for Latin America will be shown, making this book of interest to researchers and graduate students in Latin American studies as well as gender studies and political science.

Book Sexuality and Eroticism in a Post pandemic World

Download or read book Sexuality and Eroticism in a Post pandemic World written by and published by BRILL. This book was released on 2023-09-20 with total page 488 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The cultural change denominated as “the new normal” goes far beyond the adaptation to habits like physical distancing, limited person-to-person contact, teleworking, and self-isolation established with the COVID-19 pandemic. A series of significant transformations in human behavior spreads today in societies all around the world: physical intimacy decreases while virtual reality expands and alterity declines while artificial intelligence emerges, leading to structural reconfigurations of sex, relationships, gender awareness, and subjectivity. Sexuality and Eroticism in a Post-pandemic World explores this new cultural atmosphere through twelve interdisciplinary essays questioning global governmentality and challenging the biopolitics of the new normal—the administration of self-control societies so politically correct that repressed desire for otherness only finds a simulation of its satisfaction with the forced abnormality, outrageousness, and violence of mainstream porn—, going from ars erotica to alternative pornography, from online dating to gender fluidity, from LGBTQI+ artivism to sex life cultivation, and more.

This book was released on 2024-05-20 with total page 360 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In a world where gender-based violence remains an alarming global issue, with statistics revealing high rates of physical and sexual violence against women, the need for effective intervention is paramount. Grounded in the multifaceted approach advocated by international expert groups, Comprehensive Sexuality Education for Gender-Based Violence Prevention strives to illuminate the vital relationship between comprehensive sexuality education and the prevention of gender-based violence among young people. This book delves into the critical aspects outlined in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by addressing the urgent call for expansive, multi-sectoral interventions. Through a multidisciplinary lens, this book explores how comprehensive sexuality education can serve as a powerful tool to combat gender-based violence, offering young people an understanding of sexuality, gender dynamics, and healthy relationships. The chapters examine the integration of inclusive curricula in schools, the pivotal role of families in sexuality education, and collaborative efforts between activists, schools, and education stakeholders. This comprehensive resource caters to a diverse audience, making it an indispensable tool for researchers seeking knowledge and inspiration for further inquiry, teachers enriching their educational programs, and health professionals to understand the intersection of education, sexuality, and violence.

Pero en la cultura de hoy, ¿quién se puede arriesgar a formar hijos sin la verdad sobre la sexualidad humana? Book Pure Space Spanish Edition

Download or read book Pure Space Spanish Edition written by Elisa Silva and published by Actar D, Inc.. This book was released on 2020-11-24 with total page 276 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book may seem a simple accumulation of twenty-one public space projects in eight Latin American cities. On closer inspection, the presentation of project descriptions, photographs, and annotated drawings reflects a concern to analytically explain the operative aspects at work. The publication is not intended to serve only as a catalogue, guide, or manual on how to produce public space in spontaneous settlements. Rather, it goes beyond the aims of an index of best practices. It is intended, instead, as an empirical base for a critical and theoretical engagement with the problematic of development, social inclusion, public investment, (in)formal settlement, civil society and the public sphere. The publication achieves its final function at this third level, by providing a compelling argument to expand the agency of architects and urban designers and creatively find ways of justifying, financing, and building public spaces in communities —spaces that have a catalytic effectiveness in achieving significant urban and social transformation. This book was awarded by a Graham Foundation Grant and CAF Development Bank of Latin America. Book Dominicans and Human Rights

Download or read book Dominicans and Human Rights written by Mike Deeb and published by ATF Press. This book was released on 2017-04-03 with total page 333 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: To mark the long history of Dominican involvement in defence of human rights, in the year celebrating the 800th anniversary of the confirmation of the Order of Preachers, two hundred Dominican brothers, sisters and laity met in Salamanca, Spain, to discuss the contribution of the Dominican Order, in the past, present and future, in the promotion and defence of human rights. It was in that city in the sixteenth century that, prompted by his Dominican brothers, such as Bartolome de las Casas, who were defending the indigenous people of Latin America against the Spanish conquistadores, Francisco de Vitoria planted the seed of today's international human rights movement. This volume presents in original languages the eleven papers given in Salamanca as well as the statement adopted by the delegates at the end of the meeting. They combine historical views, theoretical insights and testimonies from life experience. This offers a rich contribution, not only towards strengthening the role of the Dominican Family, and even the universal church, in defending human rights, but also towards a deeper understanding of 'evangelisation' and 'mission'.

Book International Handbook on the Demography of Sexuality

Download or read book International Handbook on the Demography of Sexuality written by Amanda K. Baumle and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-05-13 with total page 421 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The International Handbook on the Demography of Sexuality is the first book to specifically address the study of sexuality from a demographic perspective. Demographic research has largely paid little attention to sexuality as a whole, or sexual orientation in particular, other than in studies examining the “consequences” of sex – sexually transmitted infections or fertility. Instead, the content of this handbook explores population sexuality in order to describe the prevalence of sexual behaviors, desires, and identities, as well as their connections with other demographic outcomes. The focus is on analyzing sexuality as a demographic topic in its own right, rather than solely as a variable in studies of sexually transmitted infection or other health-related topics. In this book, both researchers with traditional demographic backgrounds, as well as those with training in other disciplines, provide an overview of the state of current research on population sexuality. These chapters provide a foundation for the development of research in the burgeoning field of the demography of sexuality.
