Download or read book A Complete Introduction to Modern NMR Spectroscopy written by Roger S. Macomber and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 1997-12-23 with total page 406 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Clear, accessible coverage of modern NMR spectroscopy-for students and professionals in many fields of science Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy has made quantum leaps in the last decade, becoming a staple tool in such divergent fields as chemistry, physics, materials science, biology, and medicine. That is why it is essential that scientists working in these areas be fully conversant with current NMR theory and practice. This down-to-basics text offers a comprehensive, up-to-date treatment of the fundamentals of NMR spectroscopy. Using a straightforward approach that develops all concepts from a rudimentary level without using heavy mathematics, it gives readers the knowledge they need to solve any molecular structure problem from a complete set of NMR data. Topics are illustrated throughout with hundreds of figures and actual spectra. Chapter-end summaries and review problems with answers are included to help reinforce and test understanding of key material. From NMR studies of biologically important molecules to magnetic resonance imaging, this book serves as an excellent all-around primer on NMR spectroscopic analysis.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As a spectroscopic method, Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) has seen spectacular growth over the past two decades, both as a technique and in its applications. Today the applications of NMR span a wide range of scientific disciplines, from physics to biology to medicine. Each volume of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance comprises a combination of annual and biennial reports which together provide comprehensive of the literature on this topic. This Specialist Periodical Report reflects the growing volume of published work involving NMR techniques and applications, in particular NMR of natural macromolecules which is covered in two reports: "NMR of Proteins and Acids" and "NMR of Carbohydrates, Lipids and Membranes". For those wanting to become rapidly acquainted with specific areas of NMR, this title provides unrivalled scope of coverage. Seasoned practitioners of NMR will find this an in valuable source of current methods and applications. Specialist Periodical Reports provide systematic and detailed review coverage in major areas of chemical research. Compiled by teams of leading authorities in the relevant subject areas, the series creates a unique service for the active research chemist, with regular, in-depth accounts of progress in particular fields of chemistry. Subject coverage within different volumes of a given title is similar and publication is on an annual or biennial basis.
Download or read book Food Allergens written by Beatriz Cabanillas and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2023-10-24 with total page 379 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This detailed volume provides a comprehensive collection of methods and protocols in food allergy and food allergens studies. The selected protocols explore the study of food allergens, from recombinant production, purification procedures, IgE and T cell epitopes characterization, to allergen structure description, cellular responses, and tolerance induction, through a variety of techniques and animal models. Written for the highly successful Methods in Molecular Biology series, chapters include introductions to their respective topics, lists of the necessary materials and reagents, step-by-step and readily reproducible laboratory protocols, as well as tips on troubleshooting and avoiding known pitfalls. Authoritative and practical, Food Allergens: Methods and Protocols serves as an ideal reference for scientists at all stages involved in the study of food allergy and allergenic components.
Download or read book New Itinerant Electron Models of Magnetic Materials written by Gui-De Tang and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2021-05-17 with total page 262 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book highlights a series of new itinerant electron models proposed based on the experimental results of electron spectra obtained since 1970. Although conventional magnetic ordering models were established before 1960, many problems remain to be solved. The new models in this book include an O 2p itinerant electron model for magnetic oxides, a new itinerant electron model for magnetic metals, and a Weiss electron pair model for the origin of magnetic ordering energy of magnetic metals and oxides. With these models, the book explains typical magnetic ordering phenomena including those that cannot be explained using conventional models. These new models are easier to understand than the conventional magnetic ordering models.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The role of specific molecular interactions in influencing the solubility behavior of organic compounds are examined, particularly the role of hydrogen bonding. Shows how specific interactions can be used to elicit preferential solubility. Emphasizes interactions occurring in environments of low polarity and explains and predicts solubility phenomena in self-associated solvents. Also considers the kinetics of diffusion and dissolution.

Download or read book Cyclophanes written by Philip M. Keehn and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2013-10-22 with total page 401 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Cyclophanes, Volume II, provides a comprehensive review of the field of cyclophane chemistry for the period between the earlier volume in this series (Bridged Aromatic Compounds by A. H. Smith, 1964) and the present (generally through 1981). An attempt has been made to provide a selection of topics that delineate the past and present of cyclophane chemistry and point toward some of its future directions. The ordering of chapters has been chosen to present background, theory, structure, and spectroscopy followed by a somewhat arbitrary division of cyclophanes into subgroups, roughly in order of increasing structural complexity. Key topics discussed include the synthesis and properties of heterophanes, condensed benzenoid and nonbenzenoid cyclophanes, multibridged and multilayered cyclophanes, cyclophanes in host-guest chemistry, and cyclophanes as synthetic analogs of enzymes and receptors. Individual chapters have been written so that they may be read with little or no direct reference to other chapters. Each stands alone as a review of a particular area of cyclophane chemistry and therefore some overlap between chapters will be apparent.
