Book La Acreditaci N de la Educaci N Superior en Iberoam Rica

Download or read book La Acreditaci N de la Educaci N Superior en Iberoam Rica written by V. Ctor Manuel Rosario Mu Oz and published by Palibrio. This book was released on 2012-10 with total page 271 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Comparative Education Views from Latin America

Download or read book Comparative Education Views from Latin America written by Marco Aurelio Navarro Leal and published by Palibrio. This book was released on 2013-05-09 with total page 255 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Although in Latin America there are no educational programs specialized in comparative education, as there are in some European, Oriental and North American universities, there are scholars who cultivate this field. With the production of this book, the authors -most of them affiliated to member organizations of the World Council of Comparative Education Societies- are walking towards a Latin American network of researchers with an interest in establishing a dialogue with non-Spanish speaking colleagues from the rest of the world. This is the reason of our effort in writing most of the chapters in English. Comparative education, as all disciplinary fields, has evolved with different ways of thinking, approaching and constructing its objects of research and analysis, which are nurtured by different epistemological traditions living together in our times, enriching and bringing complexities. From Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Brazil, Peru, Venezuela, Costa Rica and Mexico, the authors of the book pose questions, historical descriptions, reflections, discussions and cases to set forth their views.

Book Accountability in Higher Education

Download or read book Accountability in Higher Education written by Bjorn Stensaker and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2010-09-13 with total page 331 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The latest volume in the Routledge International Studies in Higher Education series, Accountability in Higher Education takes an in-depth look at accountability initiatives around the world. This edited collection provides a comparative analysis of the promises, perils and paradoxes of accountability, and the potential effect on power structures and higher education autonomy, trust and the legitimacy of the sector. Part I describes how accountability is perceived and understood in different regions of the world, identifies some of the most common elements in established accountability initiatives, especially related to quality assurance, and provides direction for possible future development. Part II focuses on responses to new demands for accountability at institutional, national and international levels, and provides practical guidance for handling accountability going forward, emphasizing the dynamic relationship between international development, government strategies and organizational change. This volume is a must-have resource for HE managers, administrators, policy makers, researchers, HE graduate students and those interested or involved with HE accountability practices.

Book Rethinking the Public Private Mix in Higher Education

Download or read book Rethinking the Public Private Mix in Higher Education written by Pedro Teixeira and published by Springer. This book was released on 2017-04-13 with total page 192 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In recent decades, we have seen the emergence of private higher education as a global reality. Although there are specific reasons for its appearance in each system, there is also a significant degree of commonality in the context and purposes surrounding the rise of private higher education as an important factor in many systems. The analysis of private higher education has tended to be focused at the national level, often highlighting national peculiarities and variations. In this volume the authors move forward by proposing a unifying and coherent, but flexible, theoretical framework that may be applied in different countries and diverse systems. Hence, the overall goal of this book is to provide a framework for a better understanding of the public-private mix of higher education and a set of policy guidelines in dealing with the expansion of private higher education from a comparative perspective. This analytical framework will be applied to four case-studies (Pakistan, Portugal, South Korea and Uruguay). These cases illustrate the diversity of contexts in the development of private higher education, though they also highlight important commonalities. Based on that analysis, we present some general recommendations to build a more effective policy-framework that takes advantage of the private sector in order to fulfill better the missions of the higher education system.
