If you are here after forty-eight hours, you will be arrested." I learned two things in that meeting. They didn't want me in jail, they wanted me dead like the others. I knew just how long it would be before it happened; fourty-eight hours. I felt like a caged animal with no way out. In the early 1970s during the Vietnam War, many young men returned home addicted to heroin. Methadone clinics were put in place in most major cities around the county to treat their addiction, but the addicts were refusing treatment at the Methadone clinics. City and government officials were feeling helpless in their efforts to combat this problem. This book tells how they addressed the problem, and why I found myself involved in this conspiracy without knowing I was.
