Book Absorption and Transmission of Electromagnetic Waves Phase Iii Inhomogeneous Foil Absorbers with Dielectric and Magnetic Losses

Download or read book Absorption and Transmission of Electromagnetic Waves Phase Iii Inhomogeneous Foil Absorbers with Dielectric and Magnetic Losses written by H. W. Helberg and published by . This book was released on 1966 with total page 15 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An experimental method of realising an inhomogeneous transmission line for electromagnetic waves by sets of foils arranged one upon the other is described. There are two or three basic types of foils; one is lossless while the other contains lossy material. Inhomogeneous transmission line sections are obtained by constructing a set of foils of lossless and lossy foils alternately. The number of lossy foils can be varied from one set to the other in accordance with a given function. The measurements are made in a rectangular waveguide at some 4 GHz. (Author).

Book Absorption and Transmission of Electromagnetic Waves Phase M Part B combination of Magnetic Layer and Graphite Foil Absorbers

Download or read book Absorption and Transmission of Electromagnetic Waves Phase M Part B combination of Magnetic Layer and Graphite Foil Absorbers written by H. W. HELBERG and published by . This book was released on 1962 with total page 1 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The electromagnetic properties of a ferrite layer placed in front of a metal plate are investigated. For this purpose the reflection coefficient is measured as a function of the frequency with the thickness of the sample as parameter. The measurements are carrie out in a coaxial line with Ferramic E 1960 as test substance. In order to increase the bandwidth at larger t ickness of layer the ferrite is electrically shunted with a resistivity foil and the reflection coefficient of this combination is again measured as a function of the frequency. Parameters are the thickness of the ferrite layer and the surface resistivity of the foil. With this combination the operating frequency range is extended towards lower frequencies. Without resistivity foil the reflection coefficient remains about 10% in the entire range. (Author).

Book Absorption and Transmission of Electromagnetic Waves Phase J Investigation of Interdependence of Absorber Design Parameters broadband Magnetic Layer Absorbers with Small Thickness

Download or read book Absorption and Transmission of Electromagnetic Waves Phase J Investigation of Interdependence of Absorber Design Parameters broadband Magnetic Layer Absorbers with Small Thickness written by H. W. HELBERG and published by . This book was released on 1961 with total page 1 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Two ferrite materals, Ferramic E and Ferramic E 1960, were used as magnetc layer absorbers. The measured reflection coefficients were below 10% in the frequency anges 4.2 x 10 to the 7th to 3.8 x 10 to the 8th and 2.4 x 10 to the 8th to 7.6 x 10 to the 8th, respectively. The thicknesses of layer were 0.88 cm and 0.5 cm respectively. These measurements confirmed the reflection coefficients calculated from the relaive dielectric constant and relative permeability. Various materials were tested with respect to their applicability as absorber material. (Author).

Book Electromagnetic Shielding

Download or read book Electromagnetic Shielding written by Salvatore Celozzi and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2008-05-16 with total page 385 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The definitive reference on electromagnetic shielding materials, configurations, approaches, and analyses This reference provides a comprehensive survey of options for the reduction of the electromagnetic field levels in prescribed areas. After an introduction and an overview of available materials, it discusses figures of merit for shielding configurations, the shielding effectiveness of stratified media, numerical methods for shielding analyses, apertures in planar metal screens, enclosures, and cable shielding. Up to date and comprehensive, Electromagnetic Shielding: Explores new and innovative techniques in electromagnetic shielding Presents a critical approach to electromagnetic shielding that highlights the limits of formulations based on plane-wave sources Analyzes aspects not normally considered in electromagnetic shielding, such as the effects of the content of the shielding enclosures Includes references at the end of each chapter to facilitate further study The last three chapters discuss frequency-selective shielding, shielding design procedures, and uncommon ways of shielding—areas ripe for further research. This is an authoritative, hands-on resource for practicing telecommunications and electrical engineers, as well as researchers in industry and academia who are involved in the design and analysis of electromagnetic shielding structures.

Book Electromagnetic and Acoustic Waves in Bioengineering Applications

Download or read book Electromagnetic and Acoustic Waves in Bioengineering Applications written by Ivo Čáp and published by BoD – Books on Demand. This book was released on 2021-12-24 with total page 226 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book deals with the analysis of oscillations, mechanical and electromagnetic waves, and their use in medicine. Each chapter contains the theoretical basis and the use of relevant phenomena in medical practice. Description of oscillations is important for understanding waves and the nature of magnetic resonance. A chapter on mechanical waves describes the origin and properties of sound, infrasound and ultrasound, their medical applications, and perception of sound by human hearing. A chapter on electromagnetic waves examines their origin, properties, and applications in therapy and diagnostics. Subsequent chapters describe how interference and diffraction lead to applications like optical imaging, holography, virtual reality, and perception of light by human vision. Also addressed is how quantum properties of radiation helped develop the laser scalpel, fluorescence microscopy, spectroscopy, X-rays, and gamma radiation.

Book Introduction to Plasma Physics and Controlled Fusion

Download or read book Introduction to Plasma Physics and Controlled Fusion written by Francis F. Chen and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-03-09 with total page 427 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: TO THE SECOND EDITION In the nine years since this book was first written, rapid progress has been made scientifically in nuclear fusion, space physics, and nonlinear plasma theory. At the same time, the energy shortage on the one hand and the exploration of Jupiter and Saturn on the other have increased the national awareness of the important applications of plasma physics to energy production and to the understanding of our space environment. In magnetic confinement fusion, this period has seen the attainment 13 of a Lawson number nTE of 2 x 10 cm -3 sec in the Alcator tokamaks at MIT; neutral-beam heating of the PL T tokamak at Princeton to KTi = 6. 5 keV; increase of average ß to 3%-5% in tokamaks at Oak Ridge and General Atomic; and the stabilization of mirror-confined plasmas at Livermore, together with injection of ion current to near field-reversal conditions in the 2XIIß device. Invention of the tandem mirror has given magnetic confinement a new and exciting dimension. New ideas have emerged, such as the compact torus, surface-field devices, and the EßT mirror-torus hybrid, and some old ideas, such as the stellarator and the reversed-field pinch, have been revived. Radiofrequency heat ing has become a new star with its promise of dc current drive. Perhaps most importantly, great progress has been made in the understanding of the MHD behavior of toroidal plasmas: tearing modes, magnetic Vll Vlll islands, and disruptions.
