  • Publisher : Wipf and Stock Publishers
  • Release : 2011-12-01
  • ISBN : 1610976398
  • Pages : 263 pages

Download or read book Members Are Ministers written by Paul F. Goetting and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2011-12-01 with total page 263 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Cultural changes and social conditions today give evidence of a growing disregard of traditional authority and an increasing distrust of institutions. Relations between pastor and people are changing. In many situations, the practice of top-down leadership appears no longer to be effective. Members Are Ministers identifies the positive change necessary to achieve greater unity and to reduce conflict within the church. This book promotes an approach that generates a greater sense of community, enables a clearer corporate and personal witness to the faith, and reduces the social distances between pastors and people. Above all, it recognizes the Word as crucial for effecting change in our emerging new culture. Paul Goetting works from a biblical base that shapes the Christian ministry of all people through their various vocations, and equips them for a clearer witness to the Christian faith and to issues of injustice. The family, the workplace, the political arena, and the church are seen as the primary contexts for authentic servant ministry of both clergy and laity.

Book Cabinets Ministers and Gender

Download or read book Cabinets Ministers and Gender written by Claire Annesley and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2019-08-15 with total page 288 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Historically, men have been more likely to be appointed to governing cabinets, but gendered patterns of appointment vary cross-nationally, and women's inclusion in cabinets has grown significantly over time. This book breaks new theoretical ground by conceiving of cabinet formation as a gendered, iterative process governed by rules that empower and constrain presidents and prime ministers in the criteria they use to make appointments. Political actors use their agency to interpret and exploit ambiguity in rules to deviate from past practices of appointing mostly men. When they do so, they create different opportunities for men and women to be selected, explaining why some democracies have appointed more women to cabinet than others. Importantly, this dynamic produces new rules about women's inclusion and, as this book explains, the emergence of a concrete floor, defined as a minimum number of women who must be appointed to a cabinet to ensure its legitimacy. Drawing on in-depth analyses of seven countries (Australia, Canada, Chile, Germany, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States) and elite interviews, media data, and autobiographies of cabinet members, Cabinets, Ministers, and Gender offers a cross-time, cross-national study of the gendered process of cabinet formation.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Jesus is coming for a perfect Church, and this perfection would occur due to the full knowledge of Jesus. This is why there has been a progressive revelation in the Church. The Word of God to us is precept upon precept, line upon line, here a little, and there a little. Many times, the Church has separated subsequent teachings from preceding ones. Now is the time to put the teachings in the Biblical view of Christ's plan for the New Testament, till we come to the unity of the faith. This book is for the unity of the body of Christ, and not to cause any division.

Book The Lost Prime Ministers

Download or read book The Lost Prime Ministers written by Michael Hill and published by Dundurn. This book was released on 2022-02-22 with total page 332 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: After John A. Macdonald’s death, four Tory prime ministers — each remarkable but all little known — rose to power and fell in just five years. From 1891 to 1896, between John A. Macdonald’s and Wilfrid Laurier’s tenures, four lesser-known men took on the mantle of leadership. Tory prime ministers John Abbott, John Thompson, Mackenzie Bowell, and Charles Tupper headed the government of Canada in rapid succession. Each came to the job with qualifications and limitations, and each left after unexpectedly short terms. Yet these reluctant prime ministers are an important part of our political legacy. Their roles were much more than caretakers between the administrations of two great leaders. Personal tragedy, terrible health issues, backstabbing, and political manipulation all led to their eventual downfalls. The Lost Prime Ministers is the dramatic saga of these overlooked Canadian leaders.

Book The Ministers And The Ministry of The New Covenant

Download or read book The Ministers And The Ministry of The New Covenant written by Zacharias Tanee Fomum and published by ZTF Books Online. This book was released on 2015-08-07 with total page 168 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A revolutionary cure! This book is a revolutionary cure! In its preface, author Z.T. Fomum says these are messages taught at a time when the church was registering an increasing number of young ministers. Since the ministry depends on the quality of ministers who are available to the Lord, it was a question of presenting to the young ministers, in the light of the Scriptures, ways and means for the foundation of a glorious ministry, by equally glorious ministers, radically separated from self and sin, and totally surrendered or given to the Lord. This is the purpose for which this book is published. It is an outline of the fundamental principles for ministry in perfect holiness and from a position of renunciation - a revolutionary cure!
