Book Simulation of IN SITU Combustion Process Based on Parametric Study

Download or read book Simulation of IN SITU Combustion Process Based on Parametric Study written by Mizbauddin Mohammed and published by LAP Lambert Academic Publishing. This book was released on 2014-03-07 with total page 128 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The main objective of this research work is to carry out the laboratory study on wet in situ combustion by using combustion tube to evaluate how the target X field core, oil will respond to combustion, generation of flue gases and to determine the engineering parameters of combustion etc. Objective of present work is to carry out simulation of one dimensional combustion tube using CMG STARS to validate simulator thermogram profile with experimental thermogram profile. The feasibility of in situ combustion technique primarily depends on the oxidation characteristics of candidate reservoir oil eg: the sustainability of the ignition front during the course of process. To understand and determine the feasibility of its application to a given reservoir it's necessary to understand the oxidation behavior of the crude oil, the effect of water on combustion parameters and the effect of combustion front on produced liquid.

Book Enhanced Oil Recovery Field Case Studies

Download or read book Enhanced Oil Recovery Field Case Studies written by James J.Sheng and published by Gulf Professional Publishing. This book was released on 2013-04-10 with total page 710 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Enhanced Oil Recovery Field Case Studies bridges the gap between theory and practice in a range of real-world EOR settings. Areas covered include steam and polymer flooding, use of foam, in situ combustion, microorganisms, "smart water"-based EOR in carbonates and sandstones, and many more. Oil industry professionals know that the key to a successful enhanced oil recovery project lies in anticipating the differences between plans and the realities found in the field. This book aids that effort, providing valuable case studies from more than 250 EOR pilot and field applications in a variety of oil fields. The case studies cover practical problems, underlying theoretical and modeling methods, operational parameters, solutions and sensitivity studies, and performance optimization strategies, benefitting academicians and oil company practitioners alike. - Strikes an ideal balance between theory and practice - Focuses on practical problems, underlying theoretical and modeling methods, and operational parameters - Designed for technical professionals, covering the fundamental as well as the advanced aspects of EOR

Book Advances in Transport Phenomena in Porous Media

Download or read book Advances in Transport Phenomena in Porous Media written by Jacob Bear and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 1018 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume contains the lectures presented at the NATO ADVANCED STUDY INSTITUTE that took place at Newark, Delaware, U. S. A. , July 14-23, 1985. The objective of this meeting was to present and discuss selected topics associated with transport phenomena in porous media. By their very nature, porous media and phenomena of transport of extensive quantities that take place in them, are very complex. The solid matrix may be rigid, or deformable (elastically, or following some other constitutive relation), the void space may be occupied by one or more fluid phases. Each fluid phase may be composed of more than one component, with the various components capable of interacting among themselves and/or with the solid matrix. The transport process may be isothermal or non-isothermal, with or without phase changes. Porous medium domains in which extensive quantities, such as mass of a fluid phase, component of a fluid phase, or heat of the porous medium as a whole, are being transported occur in the practice in a variety of disciplines.
