Book excerpt: The report describes a theoretical and experimental investigation of the effect of wall cooling on the overall features of shock wave laminar boundary layer interactions in hypersonic two dimensional flow. The integral method of Lees-Reeves-Klineberg has been modified in order to compute viscous interactions over a continuous range of wall-to-stagnation temperature ratios using a single set of 'universal' integral functions. Comparisons between the theoretical predictions and the experimental results obtained from pressure and heat transfer distribution measurements show satisfactory agreements. Download or read book Boundary Layer Analysis written by Joseph A. Schetz and published by AIAA Education. This book was released on 2011 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Relevant to aerospace, mechanical, and civil engineers Boundary Layer Analysis, Second Edition spans the entire range of viscous fluid flows of engineering interest - from low-speed to hypersonic flows - introducing and analyzing laminar, transitional, and turbulent flows; the physics of turbulent shear flows; and turbulence models. It offers concurrent treatment of momentum, heat, and mass transfer, covering modern computational methods as well as analytical methods that are used widely in preliminary design, especially for design optimization studies. Boundary Layer Analysis, Second Edition features worked examples and homework problems employing user-friendly JAVA applets for boundary layer calculations including numerical methods. New to the second edition is a chapter introducing Navier-Stokes computational fluid dynamics.
Download or read book Cervical Spine written by Pier Paolo Maria Menchetti and published by Springer. This book was released on 2015-11-02 with total page 259 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book details the current status of cervical MISS for expert surgeons, young surgeons or clinicians, and residents and fellows with little or no experience on this field of surgery. Because of the involvement of different and highly trained specialists from all over the world, the aim of this book is to satisfy the requirements for knowing the most advanced surgical techniques and their application. Also included are the indications and surgical techniques involving an open standard approach, giving a most exhaustive knowledge of the cervical spine surgery. Due to the difficulty of finding books with both minimal invasive cervical spine surgery and more conventional standard “open” surgery, the benefit of this book is to permit the surgeons and residents and medical doctors, to have a more complete and immediate knowledge of the topics. Due to the scientific multidisciplinary nature of the MISS, several professionals such as orthopedic surgeons, neurosurgeons, radiologists, anesthesiologists and pain management specialists, have been involved in order to create a book in which all the aspects of MISS have been treated.

Download or read book Hypersonic Flow Theory written by Wallace Hayes and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2012-12-02 with total page 481 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hypersonic Flow Theory presents the fundamentals of fluid mechanics, focusing on the hypersonic flow theory and approaches in theoretical aerodynamics. This book discusses the assumptions underlying hypersonic flow theory, unified supersonic-hypersonic similitude, two-dimensional and axisymmetric bodies, and circular cylinder. The constant-streamtube-area approximation, streamtube-continuity methods, and tangent-wedge and tangent-cone are also deliberated. This text likewise covers the similar laminar boundary layer solutions, bluntness induced interactions on slender bodies, and free molecule transfer theory. The dynamics of hypersonic flight or hypersonic wing theory, magnetohydrodynamic theory, or any developments involving treatment of the Boltzmann equation are not included. This publication is intended for hypersonic aerodynamicists, students, and researchers conducting work on the hypersonic flow phenomena.
