Download or read book Investor s Perception Awareness and Preference in Financial Asset for Investment written by Hardik Shah and published by . This book was released on 2016 with total page 21 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There are many investment options are available for the investors to invest. Many times investors are aware of it and few times they are not aware of it. At last, for an individual investor the important thing is the capital appreciation. If they will get the capital appreciation from only one or two investment option and if they are satisfied with it then they will not think of the other avenues of the investment, which might give them more return compare to the others. It has been observed that the overall market of interest on government securities, bank deposits and other fixed deposit has been decreasing year after steadily due to various factors, which affect the interest of the investors and the rate of interest of the investors. On the other hand, the investor's interest is gradually shifted towards mutual funds, shares and other company securities. When compare to bank deposits the return from mutual funds is high. Likewise, when compare to mutual funds the return from equity market is very high. However, of course risk is also high in these securities. Hence, it is very important to know the awareness of the investors in financial assets and how far the investors are aware of the stock market operation, procedures and financial intermediaries. By keeping these issues in mind the present study -- investor's awareness and preference in financial asset for investment is undertaken.

Book The Impact of Reporting of Dollar Amount of Mutual Fund Fees on Fee Levels

Download or read book The Impact of Reporting of Dollar Amount of Mutual Fund Fees on Fee Levels written by Sitikantha Parida and published by . This book was released on 2018 with total page 44 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In 2004 the SEC began requiring mutual funds to include the dollar amount of fund fees in shareholders reports. Before that, funds reported returns net of fees and didn't disclose fees separately. This natural experiment allows me to study the impact of separate reporting of fees on the level of fund fees. I find that average retail fund fees decreased by 27 basis points during the five-year period after the change in this rule, compared to the five-year period before the change. This reduction in fees was much higher for funds with higher fees and more volatile returns. I also find that fund investment became more sensitive to fund fees after 2004. These findings support the narrative that reporting of mutual fund fees separately in dollars made fund fees more salient and helped increase fee awareness among the investors, which, in turn, forced mutual funds to decrease fees.

This is done with the help of mutual fund investors or through the retail investors. The retail Investors in India are very few as compared to the other investors who are investing through other financial services. This paper works on the behavior pattern of the retail investors with special reference to Bhopal. The investment by these investors at time is overshadowed by the level of understanding they have about financial securities and their experiences with the stock market. The retail investors have some apprehensions regarding the working of stock market and the feeling lurks in their mind, that whatever theory says, the stock market may not work as per the fundamental analysis or even on the basis of technical analysis, which though is very explicit, yet may not reflect the true picture. The general perception by the retail investors is the market works on random events or there are certain stock giants who make the market. Keeping this in mind the research is conducted by taking into consideration five factors, which include retail investors' predictive skills, purchase price of the stock as a reference point for trading, experiences with National Stock Exchange, preference of short term investment and sticking on to looser stock and selling the winners. The study supports the given factors which reflect the behavior of these investors.
