Book Tetravalent Metal Complexes of Amino Acid Substituted Ligands

Download or read book Tetravalent Metal Complexes of Amino Acid Substituted Ligands written by Robina Aman and published by LAP Lambert Academic Publishing. This book was released on 2013 with total page 184 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The tetravalent metal complexes of amino acid derivative containing the M-O and M-N linkage display significant and versatile biological activity. The studies are likely to be a meaningful addition in the area of work now being pursued on the reactivity of metal alkoxides. The work described in this book broadly concerns with the synthesis, characterization of several tetravalent metal complexes of amino acid substituted ligands. The structures of the synthesized compounds were confirmed by elemental analysis, IR and 1H-NMR spectra. The present research work is divided into four chapters and all four chapters end with the references. The book is contained much useful spectral data, analytical detail and solubility behavior in the form of tables. This book not only fulfils the requirements of the new synthesis but also helpful for the researchers. In future we can do biological activities such as anti-tumor, anti-ulcer, anti-carcinogenesis, anti-inflammatory, herbicidal, insecticidal and further antimicrobial activities of these silicon, tin- and organotin(IV) complexes. In case of Titanium complexes we can do the, antimicrobial studies and catalytic property.

This book was released on 2019-01-28 with total page 100 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: d-block metal complexes of methionine and leucine have been developed with the goal of providing information about the metal-ligand bonding modes of the complex compounds of the amino acids with some metal(II) species. The text also attempts to provide information about the solid state structure of the complexes and the ligand field strength of the amino acids. The antimicrobial potency of the metal complexes have also been established and well discussed. The intent is to familiarize the reader with the synthetic skill, structural information, classical and spectroscopic methods of analysis used for characterization of the metal complexes.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Edwin C. Constable Metals and Ligand Reactivity An Introduction to the Organic Chemistry of Metal Complexes New, revised and expanded edition This book is a highly readable introduction to the reactions of coordinated ligands, which have become a useful tool in organic synthesis. Bridging the gap between the traditional fields, this text presents the basic concepts of ligand reactivity as well as synthetic applications of these reactions. Topics covered include Principles of metal-ligand interaction Reactions of coordinated ligands with nucleophiles and electrophiles Oxidation and reduction of coordinated ligands Cyclic and encapsulating ligands, template effects and supramolecular chemistry Carefully selected examples, lucidly designed figures and schemes as well as numerous study problems make this book an ideal guide for students and practitioners of organic synthesis. References to further reading are also included.

Book Cosmetic and Pharmaceutical Applications of Polymers

Download or read book Cosmetic and Pharmaceutical Applications of Polymers written by T. Cheng and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 409 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Polymers continue to show almost amazing versatility. We have always known that polymers could be used for trinkets, toys and dishes. Now, however, we are no longer surprised to encounter these adaptable mate rials in almost every place we look. We find them in our cars, tools, electronic devices, building materials, etc. The use of polymeric mate rials in medicine is also well documented in previous books by one of the Editors (Gebelein) and by others. Likewise, the use of polymeric mate rials in pharmaceutical applications, especially in controlled release systems, is also well established. Nevertheless, the use of these ubiquitous chemicals is far less ob vious in the field of cosmetics, although modern cosmetic preparations rely heavily on polymers and this trend is certain to increase. This book brings together much of the basic information on polymers in cosmetics and compares this usage with similar applications in pharmaceutical and medical applications. Cosmetics, like medicine and pharmacy, dates back to antiquity. We can find uses of perfumes, balms and ointments in various old books, such as the Bible. For example, the use of ointments and balms is noted more than thirty eight times, and perfumes and related materials are cited at least twenty nine times in the Bible.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Specialist Periodical Reports provide systematic and detailed review coverage of progress in the major areas of chemical research. Written by experts in their specialist fields the series creates a unique service for the active research chemist, supplying regular critical in-depth accounts of progress in particular areas of chemistry. For over 80 years the Royal Society of Chemistry and its predecessor, the Chemical Society, have been publishing reports charting developments in chemistry, which originally took the form of Annual Reports. However, by 1967 the whole spectrum of chemistry could no longer be contained within one volume and the series Specialist Periodical Reports was born. The Annual Reports themselves still existed but were divided into two, and subsequently three, volumes covering Inorganic, Organic and Physical Chemistry. For more general coverage of the highlights in chemistry they remain a 'must'. Since that time the SPR series has altered according to the fluctuating degree of activity in various fields of chemistry. Some titles have remained unchanged, while others have altered their emphasis along with their titles; some have been combined under a new name whereas others have had to be discontinued. The current list of Specialist Periodical Reports can be seen on the inside flap of this volume.

Book AMINO ACID DERIVED TRANSITION METAL COMPLEXES STRUCTURAL AND CATALYTIC STUDIES

Download or read book AMINO ACID DERIVED TRANSITION METAL COMPLEXES STRUCTURAL AND CATALYTIC STUDIES written by and published by . This book was released on 2009 with total page 512 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A group of ligands were designed based on a minimalist reduction of the structure of metalloproteins. It was thought that a modular design with facile synthesis could lead to a new family of privileged ligands. Towards this goal a series of tri-, tetra, and penta-dentate ligands were synthesized. The ligands had a common chiral core based on inexpensive amino acid starting materials. A modular diamine backbone was adjusted to control the size, bite angle and electronic nature of the binding pocket. The ligands were capped with Schiff base imines to provide an initial binding point for the metal and to create steric bulk at one face of the complex. The tetra-dentate ligands were shown to efficiently bind zinc(II), copper((II), nickel(II), and palladium(II). In the case of the penta-dentate ligands the series was extended to cobalt(II), manganese(II) and iron(II). The tri-dentate ligands did not form isolated metal complexes. The structures of these complexes were confirmed by NMR, ESR and X-ray crystallography. The chiral copper complexes were applied to a model asymmetric acylation reaction. The results were disappointing as the reactions showed no stereoselectivity.
