Book Electroanalytical Chemistry Research Developments

Download or read book Electroanalytical Chemistry Research Developments written by P. N. Jiang and published by Nova Publishers. This book was released on 2007 with total page 330 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Electroanalytical chemistry, as the name implies, involves the analysis of chemical species through the use of electrochemical methods. Generally, alterations are measured in the concentration of a chemical species by measuring changes in current in response to an applied voltage with respect to time. According to Faraday's law, the charge is directly proportional to the amount of species undergoing a loss (oxidation) or gain (reduction) of electrons. Constant potential amperometry, high-speed chronoamperometry, fast cyclic voltammetry (FCV) and differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) are the most common voltammetric techniques used to detect monoamine neurotransmitters (ie, serotonin, dopamine, norepinephrine). Each method has its pros and cons. In constant potential amperometry, a uniform potential is applied and the change in current is monitored as a function of time. The advantage of this technique is that the time resolution is limited only by the data collection frequency of the instrument.

Book Advances in Pesticide Science

Download or read book Advances in Pesticide Science written by H. Geissbühler and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2013-09-11 with total page 513 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Advances in Pesticide Science: Abstracts and Addendum documents the proceedings of the Fourth International Congress of Pesticide Chemistry held in Zurich on July 24-28, 1978. This book discusses the synthesis of isocoumarins and their biological activities; structure-activity correlations in control of membrane-bound linolenic acid with substituted pyridazinones; and oxidative processes in pesticide transformation. The cardiovascular and neurotoxicity of endosulfan; chemistry and plant growth regulating activity of fusicoccin derivatives and analogs; and pesticide interactions with naturally occurring food components are also elaborated. This compilation likewise covers the techniques for deriving realistic estimates of pesticide intakes; confirmation tests for pesticides based on gas chromatographic techniques; surfactants in flowable formulations; and thin-layer densitometry. This publication is a good reference for biologists and chemists researching on pesticides and its relation to food and the environment.

Book Comprehensive Inorganic Chemistry II

Download or read book Comprehensive Inorganic Chemistry II written by and published by Newnes. This book was released on 2013-07-23 with total page 7694 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Comprehensive Inorganic Chemistry II, Nine Volume Set reviews and examines topics of relevance to today’s inorganic chemists. Covering more interdisciplinary and high impact areas, Comprehensive Inorganic Chemistry II includes biological inorganic chemistry, solid state chemistry, materials chemistry, and nanoscience. The work is designed to follow on, with a different viewpoint and format, from our 1973 work, Comprehensive Inorganic Chemistry, edited by Bailar, Emeléus, Nyholm, and Trotman-Dickenson, which has received over 2,000 citations. The new work will also complement other recent Elsevier works in this area, Comprehensive Coordination Chemistry and Comprehensive Organometallic Chemistry, to form a trio of works covering the whole of modern inorganic chemistry. Chapters are designed to provide a valuable, long-standing scientific resource for both advanced students new to an area and researchers who need further background or answers to a particular problem on the elements, their compounds, or applications. Chapters are written by teams of leading experts, under the guidance of the Volume Editors and the Editors-in-Chief. The articles are written at a level that allows undergraduate students to understand the material, while providing active researchers with a ready reference resource for information in the field. The chapters will not provide basic data on the elements, which is available from many sources (and the original work), but instead concentrate on applications of the elements and their compounds. Provides a comprehensive review which serves to put many advances in perspective and allows the reader to make connections to related fields, such as: biological inorganic chemistry, materials chemistry, solid state chemistry and nanoscience Inorganic chemistry is rapidly developing, which brings about the need for a reference resource such as this that summarise recent developments and simultaneously provide background information Forms the new definitive source for researchers interested in elements and their applications; completely replacing the highly cited first edition, which published in 1973

Book Incorporation of Heterocycles into Combinatorial Chemistry

Download or read book Incorporation of Heterocycles into Combinatorial Chemistry written by Eugene V. Babaev and published by Springer. This book was released on 2016-12-01 with total page 123 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The author has summarized a decade of teaching combinatorial chemistry into this timely brief. The solid phase synthesis of unnatural heterocyclic alpha-amino acids is illustrated by practical examples starting from the ABCs of peptide synthesis explored in chapter one. Chapter two is concerned with the solid phase synthesis which is shown on various techniques – BillBoard, tea-bag, and Lantern devices, and demonstrated on heterocyclic examples and protocols. In the third chapter the tools for accelerating chemical synthesis – solid phase and liquid phase – are reviewed. Here the techniques of parallel refluxing (including microwave and flow technique) and parallel separation (filtration, centrifugation, evaporation, and chromatography) are described. In the chapters 4 and 5 the author goes on to describe how the liquid phase synthesis of heterocycles (reductive amination and Ugi reaction of heterocycles) is illustrated with the use of semi-automated protocols. Finally, the design of combinatorial libraries of heterocycles is reviewed including the original author’s findings.
