These teachers recognize the need of bringing the objectives of commercial education into closer harmony with general objectives of education, the possibilities that the commercial curriculum offer for establishing utili tarian and social courses, and the very evident need for the reorganization of the curriculum to accomplish these aims. An initial step in the reorganization of the commercial curriculum is to examine the commercial programs now used in the various schools of the State. It is the pur pose of this study to present the status of commercial education in the State of Rhode Island. Possibly many valuable and interesting details of commercial education are not included, Since the study has been delimited in order that the material presented may be confined to the definite objectives of the problem.
