Book A Standard Test Method for Initial Efficiency Measurements on Flatsheet Filter Media

Download or read book A Standard Test Method for Initial Efficiency Measurements on Flatsheet Filter Media written by Robert M. Nicholson and published by . This book was released on 1986 with total page 11 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Reproducible initial efficiency measurements on flat sheet filter media in air, require well controlled test aerosols for particle count and particle size resolution. This Test Standard drafted by ASTM F21.20 Subcommittee on Gas Filtration utilized the atomization of monodispersed latex spheres and particle counting by Optical Particle Counters to measure the initial, particle size efficiencies of flatsheet filter media. A test system and procedure is defined that can provide a ±1% reproducibility on initial penetration in the particle size range of 0.5 to 5 ?m at a 95% confidence level.

Book Handbook of Nonwoven Filter Media

Download or read book Handbook of Nonwoven Filter Media written by Irwin M. Hutten and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2007-03-23 with total page 492 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The increasing importance of nonwoven filter media is due in part to their versatility: they are used in the pre-filtration of liquids, protection of membrane filters, gaseous filtration, the automotive industry, air purification, wet filtration and many household uses. Despite this, no comprehensive account of these media has existed until now. Irwin (Marshall) Hutten is well-known throughout the nonwoven industry and brings enormous experience and knowledge to this Handbook. All aspects of the properties, formation, materials, types of filters, applications, test-methods and standards are to be found within this volume. Provides practical advice on applications of nonwoven filter media Discusses in detail the raw materials and manufacturing process Offers definitions and classifications for nonwoven filter media

Book Cleanroom Technology

Download or read book Cleanroom Technology written by William Whyte and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2011-08-17 with total page 382 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A self-contained and practical book providing step-by-step guidance to the design and construction of cleanrooms, appropriate testing methodologies, and operation for the minimization of contamination... This second edition has been comprehensively revised and includes extensive updates to the two chapters that contain information on cleanroom standards and guidelines. The chapter on risk management has been extensively revised, especially the section on risk assessment. Other new subjects that have been added to the various chapters are those on clean-build, determination of air supply volumes for non-unidirectional airflow cleanrooms, RABS (Restricted Access Barrier Systems), contamination recovery test methods, entry of large items into a cleanroom, glove allergy problems, and how to develop a cleanroom cleaning programme. Used for in-house training and a textbook in colleges, this volume is for cleanroom personnel at all levels. It provides novices with an introduction to the state-of-the-art technology and professionals with an accessible reference to the current practices. It is particularly useful in the semiconductor, pharmaceutical, biotechnology and life sciences industries. William Whyte is an international authority in cleanrooms, with over 45 years experience in research, teaching and consulting in the electronic, healthcare and pharmaceutical industries. He is a member of British and International standards committees writing the International Cleanroom standards, and has received numerous awards for his work in Cleanroom Technology. A comment on the first edition: "...extremely useful and helpful...very well-written, highly organized, easy to understand and follow..." (Environmental Geology, 2003)

Book Fuel Filters Initial Single Pass Efficiency Test Method

Download or read book Fuel Filters Initial Single Pass Efficiency Test Method written by Filter Test Methods Standards Committee and published by . This book was released on 1993 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This SAE Standard is intended for all sizes of fuel filters, so a variety of test stands may be required depending upon flow rate. The low contamination level, downstream clean-up filter, and short duration of the test ensures that the particle retention ability of the filter is measured in a single pass as no appreciable loading or regression will occur.

Book Personal Protective Equipment for Chemical Biological and Radiological Hazards

Download or read book Personal Protective Equipment for Chemical Biological and Radiological Hazards written by Eva F. Gudgin Dickson and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2012-09-25 with total page 281 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Personal protective equipment (PPE) is critical for those dealing with toxic, infectious, and radioactive materials. An easily accessible guide for professionals and researchers in all PPE fields, this book takes a fresh look at how PPE is designed, selected, and used in today's emergency response environment where users may need to be protected against deliberately used chemical, biological, or radiological agents in terrorism or warfare scenarios as well as more traditional hazards. Covering the physics, chemistry, and physiology of these hazards, the book explains how PPE protects from various forms of hazards as well as how to use this information to select PPE against these highly hazardous substances for first responder or military users. The design of PPE and components plus relevant performance and evaluation standards are also discussed.

Book Fuel Filter Initial Single Pass Efficiency Test Method

Download or read book Fuel Filter Initial Single Pass Efficiency Test Method written by Filter Test Methods Standards Committee and published by . This book was released on 2013 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This SAE Standard is intended for all sizes of fuel filters, so a variety of test stands may be required depending upon flow rate. The low contamination level, downstream clean-up filter, and short duration of the test, ensures that the particle retention ability of the filter is measured in a single pass as no appreciable loading or regression will occur. As part of the 5 year review process parts of this document pertaining to bottle counting were removed. The rationale behind these revisions is to bring the document up to current technology that is used to characterize particle removing efficiencies in fuel filters. Online particle counting systems have proven to provide more reliable data than previously used off-line bottle counting systems. Other revisions to the document include corrected counts for test system validation and improved validation procedures for the injection and test systems. A more detailed test report sheet has also been added.
