Book A Spiritual Journey Through Israel

Download or read book A Spiritual Journey Through Israel written by K. J. Frolander and published by . This book was released on 2019-12-04 with total page 205 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A Christian's trip to Israel is life changing. There is so much to learn, to observe, and to receive from this land and it's wonderful people, and especially from the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Everything is enhanced during a spiritual journey through the land. This book offers exercises, prayers, and spiritual formations to take your once-in-a-lifetime pilgrimage past an intellectual experience of gathering amazing statistics, sites, and sounds of this People of God who have been raised from the dead...or, in biblical language, "called home from the diaspora" as prophesied by Isaiah and takes the experience into your soul to expand your spirit and your relationship with God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the beautiful Holy Spirit. An additional aspect people love about this book is that it can be used from home for those who for various reasons are not able to travel at this time in their lives. When a suitable adaptation is available for the reader to participate in a Spiritual Journey devotional time from home, it is included. Otherwise, just like those on a real-life journey in the land, mixing the imagination with scripture and prayer and Holy Spirit guided soul-searching (not in a weird way!) brings similar growth and depth in the readers relationship with God.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In life, we can take many journeys, but nothing is like a spiritual journey of a lifetime. I was fortunate to have an opportunity to go on a pilgrimage to Israel with other ministers. We were selected as a group to go on a special trip, a trip that perhaps would impact each of us in a very unique way. We went on the journey to learn, to observe and to be strengthened in our faith. While we were there, we reflected on our ministry and spent time discerning our call and our future. We toured biblical sites that focused on the Jews, the Romans, the Arabs, and particularly on the ministry of Jesus Christ. We traveled several places like Tiberias of Galilee, Jerusalem, Nazareth, Bethlehem, and many other sites. During my time in Israel, I had some interesting moments on the pilgrimage. There were moments at certain sites I felt deeply touched and spiritual uplifted as I walked and looked around. My faith was strengthened as I rode the boat on the Sea of Galilee. I felt spiritually uplifted when I was in Caesarea Philippi. And, I felt touched the most when I was at the Garden Tomb where Jesus was buried. I must say there is something about visiting Israel that will touch your heart. My heart was touched many times and I left with an everlasting impression. If you want to experience or explore the biblical sites and learn about the ministry of Jesus Christ, I encourage you to visit and be inspired and feel the joy in the Holy Land.

Book Into the Fullness of the Void

Download or read book Into the Fullness of the Void written by Dov Elbaum and published by Turner Publishing Company. This book was released on 2013-11-07 with total page 315 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A spiritual journey—both deeply personal and strikingly universal. One of Israel's leading cultural figures, Dov Elbaum grew up in an ultra-Orthodox Jerusalem family, and was a prodigy who seemed destined for greatness in the world of Talmud study. But in his late teens, he abruptly broke away and set off into secular Israeli society. In this fascinating, courageous and compelling autobiography, Elbaum seeks to understand his decision and its consequences. With the structure of Kabbalah as his road map, Elbaum journeys into the deep recesses of his self and his soul. The ultimate goal of his journey is "the Void," a Kabbalistic space that precedes God's creation of the world, and a psychological state that precedes our formation as individuals. It is a space of great vulnerability but also of hope for rebirth and renewal. This is an intimate, honest, revealing work, both deeply personal and strikingly universal. The Hebrew edition was a bestseller and sold over 50,000 copies.
