Niger's economy is mainly based on agriculture with approximately 80% of the population employed in farming. It is a major exporter of uranium which contributes significantly to the country's economy. However, Niger is faced with many challenges including poverty, drought, food insecurity, and political instability. It is also one of the countries at high risk of climate change and environmental degradation. Despite these challenges, Niger has made some progress in terms of development with improvements in healthcare and education. However, more needs to be done to improve the country's economy and to provide basic services to its people.
