Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Piano students of Latin American heritage often do not relate to the folk tunes that most methods use because the majority of those melodies do not flow with the rhythm of the Spanish language. This method is based on melodies original to the Mexican culture. These children's songs flow more naturally with the language, and in accord with the Kodály method of music education, give a better foundation for teaching basic musical elements in a Spanish language culture. Coupled with constant work on sight-reading, this new method is a valuable tool for native Spanish speakers in learning to play the piano, and will serve as a helpful and interesting supplement to English speaking students.

Ideal for kids ages 5-9, but great for younger and older kids; corresponds with Level A in the Thinking Tree and Dyslexia Games series, and Primer A in piano method books. Want piano lessons for the kiddos? At home? Without the drive? At a fraction of the price of private lessons? Piano Lessons for Kids is the inventive book that unleashes a student's imagination and love for music! This self-paced, 168-page book spans a semester or a school year, depending how often you visit the subject - once or multiple times in a week. Adults need no prior musical training and are encouraged to learn right along with their kids. The audio/video materials make this possible. Students will learn not just to read notes, but also to hear music, compose, and tell a story with the piano - all with songs they really want to play. Separating it from other method books and online programs. This book - with essential audio/video instruction - solves the problem of having to purchase separate books for note reading, music theory, listening skills, and composing - it's all here, in one book. The instruction incorporates the hand shape and technique that classical pianists use, as your child learns familiar songs that everyone loves: Happy Birthday, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Ode to Joy, Minuet in G, Jingle Bells, Joy to the World, Mary Had a Little Lamb, Old MacDonald and more. Make use of PLAY and CREATIVITY, but most importantly a SEQUENCED LEARNING MAP to develop musicality and a solid hand technique, with influences from Kodaly, Orff, Takadimi, Suzuki, Gordon, Paul Wirth's Gravity Technique and Irina Gorin's Russian/Ukrainian finger-numbering system. Music Learning Map: Hear, Move, Speak, Sing, Tap, Play, Read, Write (With Improvising and Composing throughout) This is THE book to help your child begin to learn music. Excellent for all students, especially creative, struggling, and/or reluctant learners. Students with ADHD, Dyslexia, Asperger's and Autism especially thrive with this book - it utilizes the Open Dyslexia font to help with letter reversal and reading confusion.

Book excerpt: When a child begins playing piano, the first few months must be entertaining enough to keep them engaged, but educational enough that they feel they are making progress. This develops advanced listening skills.- Self-Esteem: Self confidence through developing a talent and public performanceSo don't wait! Download or read book Piano Method Level 2 written by Janet Johnson and published by Mel Bay Publications. This book was released on 2007-11 with total page 48 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: While living in Mexico, Janet taught piano and music education at the Mexican Baptist Seminary from 1984 until 2000. She soon found that her Mexican students did not relate to the folk tunes found in translated piano methods. Janet wrote this new method which uses many children's and folk melodies original to the Mexican culture. Even though several of the melodies in the first level book are not currently used or well-known, these songs provide a better foundation for teaching basic musical elements in any Spanish language culture. In order to capture the flow of the music more completely, the sequence of the introduction of some elements varies somewhat from traditional methods. For instance, eighth notes are taught much earlier than is customary so that the songs can flow with more authenticity. This material has been used successfully as a teaching tool at the Mexican Baptist Seminary and throughout Mexico since 1994.

Book excerpt: The Beginner Piano Lessons for Kids Book with Online Video & Audio Access by Jay Wamsted was designed to help the absolute beginning student learn to play the piano or keyboard. This step by step course is designed for elementary school-aged children (ages 5-11) and quickly teaches the student to play songs they will know and love. These lessons start by playing with just the right hand and gradually build to adding the left hand thumb and learning how to play with both hands. Song arrangements were carefully selected to provide an easy transition from learning the basics to covering more interesting rhythms, techniques, and musical ideas. The book features standard music notation for each song and exercise along with fingering notation and hand shifts to make the course easier to learn. This method includes online access to over an hour of video instruction that will help the child play with proper form and timing. The video shows the piano, both hands, and the sheet music on-screen at the same time. The audio tracks allow the student to practice and play along with easy songs at two speeds. The slower speed features just the piano playing the song. The faster version includes vocals and other instruments in a performance-like setting. The combination of book, video, and audio make this the easiest to understand piano course for kids available.Songlist: Mary Had a Little Lamb, Ode to Joy, Hot Cross Buns, Jingle Bells, Oh When the Saints, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Rain Rain Go Away, This Old Man, Hush Little Baby, I Have a Little Dreidel, Frere Jacques, Alouette, Yankee Doodle- Watch & Learn, Inc.
