Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book introduces an unified function approximation approach to the control of uncertain robot manipulators containing general uncertainties. It works for free space tracking control as well as compliant motion control. It is applicable to the rigid robot and the flexible joint robot. Even with actuator dynamics, the unified approach is still feasible. All these features make the book stand out from other existing publications.

Download or read book Adaptive Control for Robotic Manipulators written by Dan Zhang and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2017-02-03 with total page 407 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The robotic mechanism and its controller make a complete system. As the robotic mechanism is reconfigured, the control system has to be adapted accordingly. The need for the reconfiguration usually arises from the changing functional requirements. This book will focus on the adaptive control of robotic manipulators to address the changed conditions. The aim of the book is to summarise and introduce the state-of-the-art technologies in the field of adaptive control of robotic manipulators in order to improve the methodologies on the adaptive control of robotic manipulators. Advances made in the past decades are described in the book, including adaptive control theories and design, and application of adaptive control to robotic manipulators.
Download or read book Control of Nonlinear Mechanical Systems written by Jan M. Skowronski and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 455 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A modern mechanical structure must work at high speed and with high precision in space and time, in cooperation with other machines and systems. All this requires accurate dynamic modelling, for instance, recognizing Coriolis and centrifugal forces, strong coupling effects, flexibility of links, large angles articulation. This leads to a motion equation which must be highly nonlinear to describe the reality. r1oreover, work on the manufacturing floor requires coordination between nachines, between each machine and a conveyor, and demands robustness of the controllers against uncertainty in payload, gravity, external perturbations etc. This requires adaptive controllers and system coordination, and perhaps a self organizing structure. The machines become complex, strongly nonlinear and strongly coupled mechanical systems with many degrees of freedom, controlled by sophisticated mathematical programs. The design of such systems needs basic research in Control and System Dynamics, as well as in Decision Making Theory (Dynamic Games), not only in the use of these disciplines, but in their adjustment to the present demand. This in turn generates the need to prepare engineering students for the job by the teaching of more sophisti cated techniques in control and Mechanics than those contained in previous curricula. On the other hand, all that was mentioned above regarding the design of machines applies equally well to other presently designed and used mechan ical structures or systems.
Download or read book Control and Dynamic Systems V35 Advances in Control Mechanics Part 2 of 2 written by C.T. Leonides and published by Academic Press. This book was released on 2012-12-02 with total page 335 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Advances in Control Mechanics is based on a National Science Foundation-Sponsored Workshop on Control Mechanics, i.e., control system development using analytical methods of mechanics and active control of mechanical systems. Publication of the presentations at this workshop in this Academic Press series has made it possible to expand them into a format which will facilitate the study and utilization of their significant results by working professionals and research workers on the international scene. This book comprises 13 chapters, with the first focusing on recursive Lyapunov functions, particularly their properties and linear systems. Succeeding chapters tackle topics such as the Lyapunov functional approach to uncertain systems governed by functional differential equations with finite time-lag; and stabilizing discrete control laws for Hamiltonian systems. Other chapters cover component model reduction in canonical correlation coordinates; controlling a flexible plate to mimic a rigid one; the modal stability of imperfect cyclic systems; and simultaneous stabilization via low order controllers. The remaining chapters discuss the use of Liapunov techniques for collision-avoidance of robot arms; avoidance control of a two-point mechanical system; coordination controllers for multi-arm manipulators; MRAC techniques with application to robot manipulators; optimal preview controllers based upon explicit trajectory models; and analysis of a robot dragline for mining. This book will be of interest to practitioners in the fields of engineering and aeronautics.

Download or read book PDE Modeling and Boundary Control for Flexible Mechanical System written by Zhijie Liu and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020-03-16 with total page 184 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides a comprehensive review of fundamental issues in the dynamical modeling and vibration control design for several flexible mechanical systems, such as flexible satellites, flexible aerial refueling hoses, and flexible three-dimensional manipulators. Offering an authoritative reference guide to the dynamics and control of flexible mechanical systems, it equips readers to solve a host of problems concerning these systems. It provides not only a complete overview of flexible systems, but also a better understanding of the technical levels involved. The book is divided into ten chapters: Chapters 1 and 2 lay the foundations, while the remaining chapters explore several independent yet related topics in detail. The book’s final chapter presents conclusions and recommendations for future research. Given its scope, the book is intended for researchers, graduate students, and engineers whose work involves control systems, flexible mechanical systems, and related areas.

Download or read book Control Theory Of Robotic Systems written by J M Skowronski and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 1989-08-01 with total page 368 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Automated manufacturing is the topic of the day in industry and thus also in R&D investigation in both industrial laboratories and academia. The core of such studies lies in systems of robotic manipulators, with control of such systems for stability, effective goal reaching and coordination (timing, avoidance of collision) being an essential part of it. The manipulators must work at high speed and under considerable payloads which require nonlinear modelling. Their work is subject to bounded uncertainty in many parameters but precision must be secured. This book gives the theoretic base and specific algorithms for control, attaining the objectives under the above features. The algorithms given are in closed form, which makes for fast on-board computing. The book deals with its subject of systems of robots and their coordination control on a fundamental basis, using realistic untruncated models. It will be of lasting interest compared to texts dealing with details of the design of the day.
