Dealing with depravity all day, every day, it doesn’t always seem like God is in control. Which just makes victory all that much sweeter when it comes. “Drawing upon his real-life experience as a police detective, Mark Mynheir has given us a realistic story and characters to care for. Mark presents us with a fresh new voice who writes from a unique perspective.” Angela Hunt, bestselling author of Unspoken “A remarkable first novel, with strong action and a solid moral. Readers will eagerly await the next installment from Mark Mynheir.” T. Davis Bunn, bestselling author “Rolling Thunder is a compelling story examining the struggles, importance, and power of forgiveness.” Bill Myers, bestselling author of Soul Tracker Story Behind the Book Mark Mynheir’s experience as a homicide detective enables him to accurately expose, from an insider’s view, the exciting world of law enforcement and crime investigation. It also sets an unassuming scene for the serious spiritual work that needs to be accomplished in Mynheir’s main character. While the story unfolds, the reality becomes clear of how many Christians welcome God’s grace and forgiveness for themselves but struggle to extend it to others. They harbor unresolved anger and resentment, often for years, against those who have hurt them. Mynheir challenges readers to identify with fictional characters and to initiate the process of forgiveness in their own lives.

Book The Voice of Rolling Thunder

Download or read book The Voice of Rolling Thunder written by Sidian Morning Star Jones and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2012-09-28 with total page 322 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Rolling Thunder’s life and wisdom in his own words and from interviews with those who knew him well • Contains never-before-released talks by Rolling Thunder preserved by the Grateful Dead’s Mickey Hart as well as accounts of remarkable healings and weather magic from famous personalities who knew him • Explains that in order to heal Nature’s afflictions we must first restore balance and unity in ourselves Intertribal medicine man Rolling Thunder (1916-1997) was a healer, teacher, visionary, and activist who rose to popularity in the 1960s and ’70s through his friendship with artists such as Bob Dylan and as the inspiration for the Billy Jack films. Eyewitness accounts of his remarkable healings are legion, as are those of his ability to call forth the forces of nature, typically in the form of thunder clouds. Yet it was his equally uncommon gift as a prophet and living representative of Native American wisdom that truly set him apart from other spiritual teachers of that era. Thirty years before most people had ever heard of global warming, Rolling Thunder described in graphic detail the signs of encroaching planetary doom and campaigned for environmental harmony. The key to healing nature’s afflictions, he maintained, is to first restore balance and unity in ourselves. Containing never-before-released talks preserved by the Grateful Dead’s Mickey Hart, this book shares the teachings of Rolling Thunder in his own words and through inspiring interviews with psychologist Alberto Villoldo and other famous personalities who knew him. Collected and edited by his grandson Sidian Morning Star Jones and longtime friend Stanley Krippner, this book allows you to incorporate Rolling Thunder’s wisdom into your own life.

Download or read book Did God Really Say written by Heino Weidmann and published by epubli. This book was released on 2022-01-20 with total page 925 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Jesus Christ is calling you personally to walk on water with Him. -If you are already doing it, you will know why. -If you are not doing it yet, you will know how. -If you think you can't, let us convince you otherwise. In this book, you'll get a solid foundation from the Bible: What has God promised every Christian? And what has he not said? And how can what he has said become a reality in your life? In any case, you will study the Word of God intensively as never before. To sum up the message of these pages in one sentence is this: "Jesus Christ saves from the power of sin" Doesn't every serious Christian believe that? No, hardly any serious Christian believes that. In practice, we believe, "Jesus saves us from the guilt of sin. And mostly from greater sins. But not from lesser sins. And not so that we can truly and fundamentally have victory over sin." Behind this is a theological system of unbelief inspired by the words of the serpent, "Did God really say?" Instead of believing our heart and the Scriptures, in our theology we place ourselves outside of Christ in prison walls of unbelief, on which hopelessness stands as a sentry, watching that no one escapes from the dungeon of eternal defeat before sin. And the fortress of evil thus fortified can only be broken open and destroyed by the explosive power of the united words of God. Can we not live liberated through Jesus Christ to the glory of the Father without having to weep every day over 1000 failures? Do we not have a Savior who contends and conquers for us? Let us set out for a Reformation20.de! If you are already following Jesus and longing as a child of God to experience the power of your Savior in your everyday life, then read this book: Did God Really? Say. 95 theses on your victory over sin through Jesus Christ. Read more on https://95thesenteil2.de including free version of the book with online translation into English.

Book Once Upon a Time Traveler

Download or read book Once Upon a Time Traveler written by Joshua Light and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2014-11-11 with total page 389 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Three brilliant scientists harness the power to fold time and visit the past and future like a common tourist. One scientist formulates a tour of Biblical events because he believes in God, but the tour is reluctantly and accidentally traveled by a scientist who does not. What will unbelieving eyes see, and how will they interpret the most significant supernatural events of all time? The tour embraces world history from the beginning of creation and into the future, where Biblical prophecy tells us that dangerous people will control the whole world, countless millions of people will evaporate, and society will plunge into darkness. What if a time traveler visited just two years into the future after the Biblical Prophetic clock has already started ticking? And then catapulted into the past, where Earth is like another planet entirely? What kind of world, and what kind of tribulation would he find? And as an unbeliever, how would he respond to it? Light deals with the issues of Biblical prophecy, recent young-earth creation, a literal and startling twist on how things were, and how things will be. Set aside the notions of being left behind, and embrace the idea of being brought along, in the circuits of Earth’s end-to-end timeline. Enter a future we’d rather forget, and a history that nobody remembers.

Book The Complete Works of C H Spurgeon Volume 1

Download or read book The Complete Works of C H Spurgeon Volume 1 written by Spurgeon, Charles and published by Delmarva Publications, Inc.. This book was released on 2015-02-23 with total page 834 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Volume 1 Sermons 1-53 Charles Spurgeon (19 June 1834 – 31 January 1892) is one of the church’s most famous preachers and Christianity’s foremost prolific writers. Called the “Prince of Preachers,” he was one of England's most notable ministers for most of the second half of the nineteenth century, and he still remains highly influential among Christians of different denominations today. His sermons have spread all over the world, and his many printed works have been cherished classics for decades. In his lifetime, Spurgeon preached to more than 10 million people, often up to ten times each week. He was the pastor of the congregation of the New Park Street Chapel (later the Metropolitan Tabernacle) in London for 38 years. He was an inexhaustible author of various kinds of works including sermons, commentaries, an autobiography, as well as books on prayer, devotionals, magazines, poetry, hymns and more. Spurgeon was known to produce powerful sermons of penetrating thought and divine inspiration, and his oratory and writing skills held his audiences spellbound. Many Christians have discovered Spurgeon's messages to be among the best in Christian literature. Edward Walford wrote in Old and New London: Volume 6 (1878) quoting an article from the Times regarding one of Spurgeon’s meetings at Surrey: “Fancy a congregation consisting of 10,000 souls, streaming into the hall, mounting the galleries, humming, buzzing, and swarming—a mighty hive of bees—eager to secure at first the best places, and, at last, any place at all. After waiting more than half an hour—for if you wish to have a seat you must be there at least that space of time in advance—Mr. Spurgeon ascended his tribune. To the hum, and rush, and trampling of men, succeeded a low, concentrated thrill and murmur of devotion, which seemed to run at once, like an electric current, through the breast of every one present, and by this magnetic chain the preacher held us fast bound for about two hours. It is not my purpose to give a summary of his discourse. It is enough to say of his voice, that its power and volume are sufficient to reach everyone in that vast assembly; of his language, that it is neither high-flown nor homely; of his style, that it is at times familiar, at times declamatory, but always happy, and often eloquent; of his doctrine, that neither the 'Calvinist' nor the 'Baptist' appears in the forefront of the battle which is waged by Mr. Spurgeon with relentless animosity, and with Gospel weapons, against irreligion, cant, hypocrisy, pride, and those secret bosom-sins which so easily beset a man in daily life; and to sum up all in a word, it is enough to say of the man himself, that he impresses you with a perfect conviction of his sincerity.” More than a hundred years after his death, Charles Spurgeon’s legacy continues to effectively inspire the church around the world. For this reason, Delmarva Publications has chosen to publish the complete works of Charles Spurgeon.

Download or read book Theme Parks Rainforests and Sprouting Wastelands written by and published by BRILL. This book was released on 2022-05-16 with total page 240 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This lively and fascinating new collection of European essays on contemporary Anglophone fiction has arisen out of the ESSE/3 Conference, which was held in Glasgow in September 1995. The contributors live and work in University English Departments in Bulgaria, Croatia, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, The Netherlands, Portugal and Spain, as well as in the United Kingdom itself. Essays on general theoretical aspects of the subject head and conclude the collection, and there are also essays on individual writers or groups of writers, such as John Fowles, A.S. Byatt, Charles Palliser, Peter Ackroyd, William Golding, Doris Lessing, Daphne du Maurier, Angela Carter and Christina Stead. The performative aspect of the subject-matter of these essays is balanced by a locational aspect, including utopian and dystopian writing in authors as diverse as Michael Crichton, Jenny Diski and Salman Rushdie, and the travel literature of Bruce Chatwin. These essays show theoretical alertness, but no single theoretical position is privileged. The aim of the collection is to provide an indication of the range of work being carried out throughout European academe on Anglophone (mainly British) writing today.
