Download or read book A Microwave Correlation Radiometer written by William Bernard Goggins and published by . This book was released on 1966 with total page 40 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A practical microwave correlation radiometer was built and tested. Feedback was used to ensure stability and make it unnecessary to match receiver channels. The rms temperature deviation was derived and found to be square root of 2 times that of a total power radiometer. Two separate systems to provide an ac multiplier output were built and evaluated. In one, the receiver channels were tuned to a slightly different frequency while in the other, phase reversal in one channel at an ac rate provided the modulation. The latter method proved easier to instrument. (Author).

Download or read book Microwave and Millimeter wave Remote Sensing for Security Applications written by Jeffrey A. Nanzer and published by Artech House. This book was released on 2012 with total page 386 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Microwave and millimeter-wave remote sensing techniques are fast becoming a necessity in many aspects of security as detection and classification of objects or intruders becomes more difficult. This groundbreaking resource offers you expert guidance in this burgeoning area. It provides you with a thorough treatment of the principles of microwave and millimeter-wave remote sensing for security applications, as well as practical coverage of the design of radiometer, radar, and imaging systems. You learn how to design active and passive sensors for intruder detection, concealed object detection, and human activity classification. This detailed book presents the fundamental concepts practitioners need to understand, including electromagnetic wave propagation in free space and in media, antenna theory, and the principles of receiver design. You find in-depth discussions on the interactions of electromagnetic waves with human tissues, the atmosphere and various building and clothing materials. This timely volume explores recently developed detection techniques, such as micro-Doppler radar signatures and correlation radiometry. The book is supported with over 200 illustrations and 1,135 equations.

Download or read book Atmospheric Remote Sensing by Microwave Radiometry written by Michael A. Janssen and published by Wiley-Interscience. This book was released on 1993-03-22 with total page 600 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A rapidly growing area, remote sensing is crucial to the effort of modeling the earth's atmosphere and collecting such fundamental data as temperature, winds, pressures, water vapor distribution, clouds and other active constituents. This information enables us to test existing models of the atmosphere's energy balance, depletion of the ozone layer, climatic trends and other essential environmental data. Also discussed is the application of microwave remote sensing techniques to the atmospheres of planets other than the earth.

Download or read book Principles of Interferometric and Polarimetric Radiometry written by Ignasi Corbella and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2024-10-25 with total page 325 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An overview of increasingly indispensable radiometric technologies Microwave radiometers have become a central part of Earth observation and radioastronomy. Most existing reference works on the subject, however, largely omit two key types of radiometers: interferometric radiometers and polarimetric radiometers. The extensive applications of these two classes of radiometer and their potential for mapping distant celestial bodies and enhancing Earth observation has made it critical for the next generation of radiometric scientists and engineers to be familiar with this technology and its principles. Principles of Interferometric and Polarimetric Radiometry meets this crucial need with a first-in-class overview of this key subject. Beginning with an introduction to the foundational concepts of microwave radiometry, it proceeds to work through a careful revision of the field’s major theory and techniques, with a particular emphasis on interferometric and polarimetric systems. The result promises to revolutionize the use of microwave passive sensors for Earth observation and beyond. Principles of Interferometric and Polarimetric Radiometry readers will also find: Broad approach that can be brought to bear in any area of microwave radiometry Detailed discussion of topics including stochastic processes, analytic signals, microwave networks, and many more Extensive appendices incorporating key mathematics and special functions Principles of Interferometric and Polarimetric Radiometry is ideal for graduate or advanced undergraduate courses in radiometry and microwave remote sensing.
