Download or read book Forecasting in Military Affairs written by Юрий Васильевич Чуев and published by . This book was released on 1980 with total page 286 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book provides a rather broad review on an international scale of recent thinking on the subject of scientific planning, forecasting, and decisionmaking as it relates to the military. The scientific approach to these matters is observed to be highly essential in an age in which scientific and technical development gives rise to rapid changes in weapons and techniques. The results of the use of nuclear weapons are likely to be such as to deny decisionmakers the luxury approach to their task. Scientific forecasting is proposed as a means of ensuring the rapid production of soundly based information on which to make proper decisions in military affairs. It is not put forth as a substitute for the thinking of talented and experienced military experts but as a means for them to achieve their decisions in a more timely and scientific manner. The authors employ a mathematical-statistical approach in arriving at their hypotehtical forecasts, and, particulary because of the numerous examples of forecasting situations to which these techniques are applied, those involved or interested in the activity should be able to confirm their understanding of the methods of arrival at the various conclusions.

Download or read book Mathematical Modeling for Business Analytics written by William P. Fox and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2017-12-15 with total page 336 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Mathematical Modeling for Business Analytics is written for decision makers at all levels. This book presents the latest tools and techniques available to help in the decision process. The interpretation and explanation of the results are crucial to understanding the strengths and limitations of modeling. This book emphasizes and focuses on the aspects of constructing a useful model formulation, as well as building the skills required for decision analysis. The book also focuses on sensitivity analysis. The author encourages readers to formally think about solving problems by using a thorough process. Many scenarios and illustrative examples are provided to help solve problems. Each chapter is also comprehensively arranged so that readers gain an in-depth understanding of the subject which includes introductions, background information and analysis. Both undergraduate and graduate students taking methods courses in methods and discrete mathematical modeling courses will greatly benefit from using this book. Boasts many illustrative examples to help solve problems Provides many solutions for each chapter Emphasizes model formulation and helps create model building skills for decision analysis Provides the tools to support analysis and interpretation

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book addresses how to conduct policy analysis in the field of national security, including foreign policy and defense strategy. It is a philosophical and conceptual book for helphing people think deeply, clearly, and insightfully about complex policy issues. This books reflects the viewpoint that the best policies normally come from efforts to synthesize competing camps by drawing upon the best of each of them and by combining them to forge a sensible whole. While this book is written to be reader-friendly, it aspires to in-depth scholarship.

Download or read book Intelligence Analysis written by Robert M. Clark and published by CQ Press. This book was released on 2022-08-15 with total page 473 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Now in its Seventh Edition, Robert M. Clark′s Intelligence Analysis: A Target-Centric Approach once again delivers a consistent, clear method for teaching intelligence analysis, demonstrating how a collaborative, target-centric approach leads to sharper and more effective analysis. In addition to looking at the intelligence cycle, collection, managing analysis, and dealing with intelligence customers, the author also examines key advances and emerging fields like prescriptive intelligence. Through features like end-of-chapter questions to spark classroom discussion, this text combines a practical approach to modeling with an insider perspective to serve as an ideal and insightful resource for students as well as practitioners.
Download or read book Mathematics Of Physics And Engineering written by Edward K Blum and published by World Scientific Publishing Company. This book was released on 2006-07-07 with total page 498 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Aimed at scientists and engineers, this book is an exciting intellectual journey through the mathematical worlds of Euclid, Newton, Maxwell, Einstein, and Schrodinger-Dirac.While similar books present the required mathematics in a piecemeal manner with tangential references to the relevant physics and engineering, this textbook serves the interdisciplinary needs of engineers, scientists and applied mathematicians by unifying the mathematics and physics into a single systematic body of knowledge but preserving the rigorous logical development of the mathematics. The authors take an unconventional approach by integrating the mathematics with its motivating physical phenomena and, conversely, by showing how the mathematical models predict new physical phenomena.
