Book Practical Inorganic Chemistry

Download or read book Practical Inorganic Chemistry written by G. Pass and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-03-09 with total page 254 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In revising the text opportunity has been taken to introduce SI units throughout. An Appendix has been included which contains tables of SI units and a table of conversion factors for use when consulting data in non-SI units. Chapter 19 now includes experiments demon strating the use of ion-exchange and solid-liquid chromatography_ Exercises involving colorimetry have been included in Chapter 17. These techniques are introduced as part of a complementary exercise where their relevance is seen as part of a complete piece of work. Minor improvements have been made to some of the experimental procedures and we are grateful to those who have made helpful suggestions in this respect. G. PASS H. SUTCLIFFE iii Preface to the First Edition The student of inorganic chemistry is fortunate in having a wide choice of textbooks covering the descriptive and theoretical aspects of the sUbject. There is no comparable choice of textbooks covering practical inorganic chemistry. Moreover, there is a tendency for many students to draw an unfortunate distinction between chemistry taught in the lecture room, and laboratory work. Consideration of these points prompted the preparation of this book, in which we have attempted to emphasize the relationship between theory and practice.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Practical Approaches to Biological Inorganic Chemistry, Second Edition, reviews the use of spectroscopic and related analytical techniques to investigate the complex structures and mechanisms of biological inorganic systems that contain metals. Each chapter presents an overview of the technique, including relevant theory, a clear explanation of what it is, how it works, and how the technique is actually used to evaluate biological structures. New chapters cover Raman Spectroscopy and Molecular Magnetochemistry, but all chapters have been updated to reflect the latest developments in discussed techniques. Practical examples, problems and many color figures are also included to illustrate key concepts. The book is designed for researchers and students who want to learn both the basics and more advanced aspects of key methods in biological inorganic chemistry. Presents new chapters on Raman Spectroscopy and Molecular Magnetochemistry, as well as updated figures and content throughout Includes color images throughout to enable easier visualization of molecular mechanisms and structures Provides worked examples and problems to help illustrate and test the reader’s understanding of each technique Written by leading experts who use and teach the most important techniques used today to analyze complex biological structures

Book Laboratory Manual of Pharmaceutical Inorganic Chemistry

Download or read book Laboratory Manual of Pharmaceutical Inorganic Chemistry written by Dr. Prashant D. Aragade and published by Trinity Publishing House, Satara. This book was released on 2023-10-02 with total page 104 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We are pleased to present the "Laboratory Manual of Pharmaceutical Inorganic Chemistry". This manual is prepared according to the PCI B. Pharm course regulations 2014 and is divided into four sections: limit tests, identification tests, purity tests, and preparation of inorganic pharmaceuticals. The methods of all the experiments are taken from the latest editions of official books such as the Indian, European, British and US Pharmacopoeia, and research papers, so that the latest advancements in the methods or apparatus can be incorporated. The purpose of pharmaceutical inorganic chemistry practicals is to provide students with hands-on experience in understanding and applying the principles of inorganic chemistry to pharmaceutical applications. Through these practical sessions, students can learn how to prepare, analyze, and characterize inorganic pharmaceutical compounds, which are important in drug development, formulations, and quality control processes. These practicals also help students gain essential laboratory skills, such as safely handling chemicals and using various analytical techniques, which are crucial for their future careers in the pharmaceutical industry or research. This manual is designed for outcome-based education and each experiment is arranged in a uniform way, with sections for practical significance, practical outcomes (PrOs), mapping with course outcomes, theory, resources used, procedure, precautions, observations, results, conclusion, references, and synopsis questions. Each experiment offers an opportunity for students to perform practical work, allowing them to gain proficiency in effectively managing equipments, handling glasswares, chemicals and reagents, and writing reports. In addition, the questions at the end of the experiments help to enhance students' knowledge, which will be beneficial for them as they pursue higher studies. We acknowledge the help and cooperation of various persons in bringing out this manual. We are highly indebted to the authors of the books and articles mentioned in the references, which were a major source of information for writing this manual. We also thank the publishers, designers, and printers who worked hard to publish this manual in a timely manner. We hope that this manual will be helpful to students in understanding concepts, principles, and procedures. We wish you all the best!

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from A Manual of Practical Inorganic Chemistry: Including Preparations and Qualitative and Quantitative Analysis With the Rudiments of Gas Analysis, Specially Adapted to Cover Preliminary and Intermediate University Courses and the First Three Stages of the Syllabus of the Board of Education The scope of the book is probably different from that of any existing textbook, and the author trusts that it may be found particularly suitable for medical and pharmaceutical students. The methods of preparation of practically all the inorganic compounds in the British Pharmacopoeia are clearly indicated, without however interfering With the general systematic arrangement of the book. The Tables showing the relationships of the common compounds of the different metals which were a feature of the elementary work are given in this M anual, as they have been found of considerable value in teaching. The author would be greatly obliged by any suggestions from teachers regarding arrangement or matter, which would receive careful consideration.
