Book A Small signal Analysis of the Electron Cyclotron Backward wave Oscillator

Download or read book A Small signal Analysis of the Electron Cyclotron Backward wave Oscillator written by K. K. Chow and published by . This book was released on 1961 with total page 21 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A small signal analysis is presented of the electron cyclotron BWO. The method used is the normal-mode expansion type of analysis. The electromagnetic field existing in the circuit in the presence of RF current is expanded as a double infinite series of normal modes, out of which only one mode is in approximate dc synchronism with the beam and contributes to cumulative interaction. The RF current is computed from the equation of electron motion under the dc and RF fields. Combination of the circuit equation with the RF current equation leads to the solution of the propagation constants of the waves. This contains 6 roots; 2 of them, being very far from synchronism, are not considered for the normal operation of this tube. The remaining 4 consist of 3 backward waves and 1 forward circuit wave; of the 3 backward waves, 2 are recognized as being originated from the backward fast cyclotron wave, and 1 is from the backward circuit wave. Start-oscillation conditions can be calculated from a knowledge of these propagation constants. (Author).

Book Large Signal Analysis of Parametric Subharmonic Oscillator

Download or read book Large Signal Analysis of Parametric Subharmonic Oscillator written by Abrahim Lavi and published by . This book was released on 1959 with total page 126 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An analysis is given for the second subharmonic parametric oscillator with two ferromagnetic cores which is used in binary data handling systems. 'Square Loop' techniques based on the ideal core assumption have been chosen considering subsequently the effects of hysteresis losses and saturated inductance. First, the steady state operation both with voltage and with current pump drives have been studied in order to determine the values of parameters of the circuit which give rise to the subharmonic oscillation. For this, certain general rules of logic are established which are a consequence of the magnetic idealization adopted. The transient response of the device is of primary importance for practical purposes. The switching of the output oscillations from one phase to the other is handled by the same rules of logic already established. The transient is followed half cycle by half cycle of the pump and the pertinent difference equations are derived as a guidance to the calculations. The influence of the magnitude of the initial capacitor voltage upon the transient is also illustrated. The experimental results agree with the analytical predictions for a wide range of drive frequencies. The upper limit used in the experimentation is LMC and it appears that the application of the same methods to higher frequencies is possible with satisfactory quantitative results.

Book Vacuum and Ultravacuum

Download or read book Vacuum and Ultravacuum written by Igor Bello and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2017-11-02 with total page 1137 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Vacuum technology has enormous impact on human life in many aspects and fields, such as metallurgy, material development and production, food and electronic industry, microelectronics, device fabrication, physics, materials science, space science, engineering, chemistry, technology of low temperature, pharmaceutical industry, and biology. All decorative coatings used in jewelries and various daily products—including shiny decorative papers, the surface finish of watches, and light fixtures—are made using vacuum technological processes. Vacuum analytical techniques and vacuum technologies are pillars of the technological processes, material synthesis, deposition, and material analyses—all of which are used in the development of novel materials, increasing the value of industrial products, controlling the technological processes, and ensuring the high product quality. Based on physical models and calculated examples, the book provides a deeper look inside the vacuum physics and technology.
