Book excerpt: Excerpt from A Handbook of Rhythmical Balance ExercisesIn the writing out of each rhythmical balance exercise the method chosen is as follows: The left foot is used for the first important movement, and all the remaining movements of the exercise follow in order. This series is called the formula. The execution of the formula leaves the right foot in position to start the whole exercise over again, except where is found, in which case it is necessary to begin the formula with the left foot each time.Every formula is divided into bracketed spaces, and within each space are shown the movements made and the positions taken during the count, or counts, indicated underneath the bracket. Book Handbook for Rhythmical Einreibungen

Download or read book Handbook for Rhythmical Einreibungen written by Monica Layer and published by Temple Lodge Publishing. This book was released on 2006 with total page 178 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Rhythmic Einreibungen consist of gentle forms of therapeutic massage by nurses, caregivers, and therapists familiar with the methods and principles of Anthroposophy. The German word Einreibung refers to the application of oil or liniments to the body. The methods, first developed eighty years ago by doctors Ita Wegman and Margarethe Hauschka, were initially used only in medicine and nursing. They have since been applied more broadly in other areas of healthcare, nursing homes, hospitals, clinics, special education, and social therapies. This clear, comprehensive manual is intended for all those who wish to use rhythmical Einreibungen professionally or to renew and deepen their knowledge; those who have had some training in the field and want to deepen their knowledge; those who teach rhythmical Einreibungen; and those who would like an in-depth introduction to this effective healing method. The book describes aspects of the anthroposophic image of the human being that are relevant within the context. It discusses important concepts for the application and effectiveness of rhythmical Einreibungen. The book also distinguishes between rhythmical massage and rhythmical Einreibungen and offers details on how the rhythmic quality is created for this particular therapy. The authors also describe the techniques most important in nursing and offer specific exercises that help develop the particular skills needed for this procedure. Dr. Margarethe Hauschka Stavenhagen, (1896-1980) encountered Anthroposophy before becoming a medical doctor. She learned techniques of massage during her initial employment in her uncle's clinic. As a preparation for her work in Dr. Husemann's clinic, and on his suggestion, she studied therapeutic eurythmy and, later, helped Dr. Ita Wegman develop the method of the rhythmic massage. In 1942, she marriage Dr. Rudolf Hauschka in Vienna. Until her death in 1980, she taught and lectured on rhythmic massage and art therapy.

Book Rhythm Exercises for Musicians

Download or read book Rhythm Exercises for Musicians written by Evangelos C. Sembos and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2007-01-01 with total page 102 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Whether an instrumentalist or a vocalist, this book will help you achieve a remarkable control in the performance of the most difficult and rhythmically complex lines of music. Beginning with detailed instruction for the novice and building to more advanced levels, the single and double line rhythm exercises are enormously beneficial to every musician. Rhythmic phrases are intentionally composed by using short, long, or unequal number of measures. Odd rhythms with their odd time-signatures are included, offering a fresh welcoming change from the usual rhythms with their customary common time-signatures. The creative musician/performer will find the numerous accent symbols helpful in uncovering the not so obvious (concealed) rhythmic phrases and for bringing the pieces of rhythm to life.
