E. Pron., vol. V) the Lorton dialect district belongs to the west-northern division, D. 31. It does not exactly coincide with any of the varieties given by Ellis but falls between Varieties 19 (clifton) and 18 (keswick). The dialect forms of Var. 19 (clifton) are very nearly identical with those of the Lorton dialect, whereas the Keswick variety (18) differs on some minor points.
