Book A Glimpse into the Other Side Through the Eyes of My Soul

Download or read book A Glimpse into the Other Side Through the Eyes of My Soul written by Louise and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2015-10-27 with total page 189 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This life story is about a woman named Louise. It has always been a personal desire of Louise to love God the way Enoch did. The Bible does not provide a list of things that Enoch did; however, we know that God was pleased with him. Genesis 5:2324 states that Enoch lived a total of 365 years. Enoch walked faithfully with God; then he was no more because God took him away. Louise made up her mind that she would diligently seek a personal relationship with her God. One day Louise decided to write her life journey. After many days of thinking, meditating, and trying to decide what to write, Louise realized that she had a problem. Every time she started to write, she had nothing of value to say. Louise did not desire to write a love story or some sort of fairy tale. Louse desired to write something that would help inspire and motivate fellow Christians to not give up. Louise prayed and prayed that God would allow her to share His love through her life journey. As a Christian, Louise could not write her life journey without writing about her spiritual journey, which included her errors, flaws, and sins. As a Christian, Louise had to write about how God delivered her. In return, God gave Louise an amazing gift to share with every reader. Louise has been blessed with an amazing gift of seeing and experiencing a small glimpse of what her soul endured during very difficult times in her life.

Book Through My Lens A Glimpse of God s Magnificent Creation

Download or read book Through My Lens A Glimpse of God s Magnificent Creation written by William E. Moberly and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2016-02-29 with total page 62 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice, and let them say among the nations, “The Lord is king!” 1 Chronicles 16:31 God’s creation is magnificent. Creation gives us insight into the very nature of God through the amazingly intricate details of even the simplest element of His handiwork. Our busy lives make it difficult to see those details and we lose touch with the true path God would have us walk. The photographs and words of Scripture in this book are a gift to help you slow down, be still, and hear the quiet, gentle voice of God saying “My beloved child, I am always with you, you are mine and I love you.” They serve to remind us that darkness cannot overcome the light of the world that God gave us in His son, Jesus. Peace be with you.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Come Grieve Through Our Eyes gives a clear, truthful message from those who have lost a child, to those who want to know how to be there for these grieving parents. This book opens the door into the world of bereaved parents, enabling the readers to go beyond just condolences and sympathy, but having compassion at a level that will help these devastated parents at their deepest level of need. As a bereaved parent herself, author Laura Diehl offers a glimpse into the dark pit parents find themselves thrown into after the death of their child. Some of the things you will discover are: - What almost every grieving parent fears the most - Why the normal clichés for grief can actually intensify their pain - How to know what a grieving parent needs down the road - Three times of year that are especially difficult for someone who has lost a child - How to keep your friendship strong with a bereaved parent Many people seem to think if a parent who has lost a child would just think happy thoughts about Jesus and His promises, the pain would go away and they could get back to normal. These kinds of thoughts from the people around them cause many grieving parents to isolate themselves. They shut others out, making it even more difficult for friends and family to understand their unwanted world of darkness, confusion, and pain. Those who have an understanding of how dark their world is, will be much better equipped to be able to help these shattered parents in a way that can pull them out of that darkness. If you care about someone who is experiencing this kind of pain, you will want to know how to support and help them through it. Come Grieve Through Our Eyes is the place to begin. Thank you for choosing to try and come into our world. It means a lot to us...more than we can say. -- author Laura Diehl

Book excerpt: The date is 1937. The place Liverpool. Mary escapes a loveless childhood by marrying an infantry soldier who glories in active service. The date is 1952. The place Nairobi. The Mao Mau are rising up to reclaim their land in bloody guerrilla warfare. Mary's adulterous love affair unfolds in the empty rooms and grounds of deserted colonial houses. Trysts go unnoticed until political and personal events move towards their shocking finale. Spanning four decades, this is a novel of both epic proportion and intimate narration. At its heart is the poignant and powerful love affair between Mary, the young wife of an infantry soldier, and an intelligence officer who truly understands Africa and its plight. Their secret meetings are conveniently camouflaged by the hysteria and violence surrounding the Mau Mau uprising in Kenya. We watch Mary from her too-young marriage, to her success in the Red Cross during WWII, to the jaded reunion with her husband, to the headlong passion of mature love. The ending is a bombshell. This story, spanning four decades, is told by Mary, her husband, David, and their young children, Eve and Clara, who listen at doors and speak their own fear-fuelled version of the truth.White Lies is about different kinds of war and different kinds of loving. It explores the fragility and partiality of memory and our need to re-write the past so that it does not jar with the stories we tell ourselves and others.

Book Narratives of Hope and Grief in Higher Education

Download or read book Narratives of Hope and Grief in Higher Education written by Stephanie Anne Shelton and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020-04-01 with total page 226 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This collection weaves together the personal narratives of a group of diverse scholars in academia in order to reflect on the ways that grief and hope matter for those situated within higher education. Each chapter explores a unique aspect of grief and loss, from experiencing a personal tragedy such as the loss of a loved one, to national and international grief such as campus shootings and refugee camp experiences, to experiencing racism and microaggressions as a woman of color in academia, to the implications of religious differences severing personal ties as an individual navigates research and academic studies. Unlike most resources examining grief, this collection pushes beyond notions of sorrow as solely individual, and instead situates moments of loss and hurt as ones that matter politically, academically, professionally, and personally. The editors and their authors offer pathways forward to academics, researchers, teachers, pedagogues, and thinkers who grapple with grief in a variety of forms, transforming this book into a critical resource of hope to those in the field of education (and others) who may feel the effects of an otherwise solitary journey of grief, to create an awareness of solidarity and support that some may not realize exists within academic circles.
