Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This handbook provides full coverage of the most recent and advanced topics in scheduling, assembling researchers from all relevant disciplines to facilitate new insights. Presented in six parts, these experts provides introductory material, complete with tutorials and algorithms, then examine classical scheduling problems. Part 3 explores scheduling models that originate in areas such as computer science, operations research. The following section examines scheduling problems that arise in real-time systems. Part 5 discusses stochastic scheduling and queueing networks, and the final section discusses a range of applications in a variety of areas, from airlines to hospitals.

Book Integer Programming and Related Areas

Download or read book Integer Programming and Related Areas written by C. Kastning and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-11-11 with total page 504 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Integer Prograw~ing is one of the most fascinating and difficult areas in the field of Mathematical Optimization. Due to this fact notable research contributions to Integer Programming have been made in very different branches of mathematics and its applications. Since these publications are scattered over many journals, proceedings volumes, monographs, and working papers, a comprehensive bibliography of all these sources is a helpful tool even for specialists in this field. I initiated this compilation of literature in 1970 at the Institut fur ~konometrie und Operations Research, University of Bonn. Since then many collaborators have contributed to and worked on it. Among them Dipl.-Math. Claus Kastning has done the bulk of the work. With great perseverance and diligence he has gathered all the material and checked it with the original sources. The main aim was to incorporate rare and not easily accessible sources like Russian journals, preprints or unpublished papers. Without the invaluable and dedicated engagement of Claus Kastning the bibliography would never have reached this final version. For this reason he must be considered its responsible editor. As with any other collection this literature list has a subjective viewpoint and may be in some sense incomplete. We have however tried to be as complete as possible. The bibliography contains 4704 different publications by 6767 authors which were classified by 11839 descriptor entries.

Book Industrial Engineering in the Industry 4 0 Era

Download or read book Industrial Engineering in the Industry 4 0 Era written by Fethi Calisir and published by Springer. This book was released on 2017-12-28 with total page 276 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book gathers extended versions of the best papers presented at the Global Joint Conference on Industrial Engineering and Its Application Areas (GJCIE), held in Vienna on July 20-21, 2017. They offer a snapshot of the current state of the art in three main related fields of research, namely industrial engineering, engineering and technology management, and healthcare systems engineering management. The book is intended to integrate theory and practice and to merge different perspectives, from the academic to the industrial and governmental one.

Book The Routledge Companion to Production and Operations Management

Download or read book The Routledge Companion to Production and Operations Management written by Martin K. Starr and published by Taylor & Francis. This book was released on 2017-03-27 with total page 712 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This remarkable volume highlights the importance of Production and Operations Management (POM) as a field of study and research contributing to substantial business and social growth. The editors emphasize how POM works with a range of systems—agriculture, disaster management, e-commerce, healthcare, hospitality, military systems, not-for-profit, retail, sports, sustainability, telecommunications, and transport—and how it contributes to the growth of each. Martin K. Starr and Sushil K. Gupta gather an international team of experts to provide researchers and students with a panoramic vision of the field. Divided into eight parts, the book presents the history of POM, and establishes the foundation upon which POM has been built while also revisiting and revitalizing topics that have long been essential. It examines the significance of processes and projects to the fundamental growth of the POM field. Critical emerging themes and new research are examined with open minds and this is followed by opportunities to interface with other business functions. Finally, the next era is discussed in ways that combine practical skill with philosophy in its analysis of POM, including traditional and nontraditional applications, before concluding with the editors’ thoughts on the future of the discipline. Students of POM will find this a comprehensive, definitive resource on the state of the discipline and its future directions.

Book Exact and Heuristic Scheduling Algorithms

Download or read book Exact and Heuristic Scheduling Algorithms written by Frank Werner and published by MDPI. This book was released on 2020-03-18 with total page 200 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This edited book presents new results in the area of the development of exact and heuristic scheduling algorithms. It contains eight articles accepted for publication for a Special Issue in the journal Algorithms. The book presents new algorithms, e.g., for flow shop, job shop, and parallel machine scheduling problems. The particular articles address subjects such as a heuristic for the routing and scheduling problem with time windows, applied to the automotive industry in Mexico, a heuristic for the blocking job shop problem with tardiness minimization based on new neighborhood structures, fast heuristics for the Euclidean traveling salesman problem or a new mathematical model for the period-aggregated resource leveling problem with variable job duration, and several others.
