The second and main section presents methodologies to identify and delineate featured species habitats. Chapters in this section provide methodologies regarding: moose aquatic feeding areas, bald eagle and osprey nests, and great blue heron colonies; moose winter habitat; white-tailed deer winter habitat; provincially featured birds, mammals, reptiles, and plants; woodland caribou winter habitat, calving and nursery sites; nests of red-shouldered hawk and great gray owl; southern flying squirrel habitats; West Virginia white butterfly habitats; and other vulnerable birds, mammals, and reptiles that can be locally featured.
