This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 796 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Over the years the aim of the International Conference on Magnet Technology has been the exchange of information on the design, construction and operation of magnets for a variety of applications, such as high energy physics, fusion, electrical machinery and others. The aim has included advances in materials for magnet conductors, insulators and supporting structures. Since its inception the focus of the International Conference on Magnet Technology has gradually shifted to superconducting magnets. Now almost all papers are related to superconductivity. The 11th International Conference on Magnet Technology (MT-11) was organized by the combined efforts of the Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan, the Association for Promotion of Electrical, Electronic and Information Engineering, and the Tokyo Section of the IEEE. The Conference was held at the Tsukuba University Hall, Tsukuba, Japan, from 28 August to 1 September 1989, courtesy ofthe University ofTsukuba. The Tsukuba University Hall was large enough to host invited talks, parallel sessions, poster sessions and industrial exhibitions. 461 participants from 19 countries registered for MT-ll, and 280 invited and contributed papers were presented. The papers were reviewed not only by the Program Committee but also by foreign participants. Working sessions and social events were characterized by a truly international atmo sphere. Scientific as well as cultural excursions were organized so that foreign visitors could experience the spirit of modern Japan. 26 companies, of which 8 were from Western countries, participated in the industrial exhibition which featured diverse products and services of interest to the magnet community.

This book was released on 2024-01-10 with total page 451 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is an open access book.ICEM started in 2016, ICEM 2016-2022 is to bring together innovative academics and industrial experts in the field of Engineering Management to a common forum. And we achieved the primary goal which is to promote research and developmental activities in Engineering Management, and another goal is to promote scientific information interchange between researchers, developers, engineers, students, and practitioners working all around the world. 2023 8th International Conference on Engineering Management (ICEM 2023) will be held on September 8-10, 2023 in Wuhan, China. Except that, ICEM 2023 is to bring together innovative academics and industrial experts in the field of Engineering Management to a common forum. We will discuss and study about Project & Engineering Management , Visual analysis of big data, Supply Chain Management and Modeling, Disaster Modeling and Simulation and other fields. ICEM 2023 also aims to provide a platform for experts, scholars, engineers, technicians and technical R & D personnel to share scientific research achievements and cutting-edge technologies, understand academic development trends, expand research ideas, strengthen academic research and discussion, and promote the industrialization cooperation of academic achievements. The conference sincerely invites experts, scholars, business people and other relevant personnel from universities, scientific research institutions at home and abroad to attend and exchange! The conference will be held every year to make it an ideal platform for people to share views and experiences in Engineering Management and related areas. Engineering management refers to the decision-making, planning, organization, command, coordination, and control of engineering to achieve expected goals and effectively utilize resources. The Engineering Management major cultivates students with theoretical foundations in construction engineering technology, economics, management, law, ecology, humanities, and other fields required by the new engineering discipline. They receive basic training as engineers and consultants, and possess independent thinking ability, engineering practice ability, organizational management ability, and international perspective as composite senior engineering management talents. We sincerely welcome our colleagues worldwide to join us for this conference. We look forward to seeing you in Wuhan, China for this exciting event!

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The third annual International Industrialization Symposium on the SuperCollider, IISSC-held March 13-15, 1991, in Atlanta, Ga.-was an enormous success. The number of attendees, exhibitors, and representatives from foreign countries surpassed the totals of previous years. There were 740 attendees, representing more than 2 dozen universities and colleges, 32 states, 9 national labs, 6 research centers, several government entities at the local, state, and federal level, 182 businesses & industry and 14 countries. More than 100 exhibits, sponsored by 85 organizations, added to the excitement. "Getting Down to Business" was the theme of this year's Symposium. The fact that the Superconducting SuperCollider (SSC) is indeed underway was the message delivered by the Symposium's keynote speaker, Dr. Roy Schwitters, and expanded upon by the opening plenary speakers. The project is moving from the planning stage to actual construction, to development and procurement of equipment, and to resolution of the technical issues involved in advancing the state-of-the-art in areas such as theory, controls, systems, metallurgy, quality control, management, cryogenics, power systems, detectors, interagency cooperation and funding. Plenary speakers included: Paul Gilbert, Chairman of Parsons Brinckerhoff Quade & Douglas, Inc.

Download or read book Limits Modeling and Design of High Speed Permanent Magnet Machines written by Aleksandar Borisavljevic and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-10-31 with total page 229 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There is a growing number of applications that require fast-rotating machines; motivation for this thesis comes from a project in which downsized spindles for micro-machining have been researched. The thesis focuses on analysis and design of high-speed PM machines and uses a practical design of a high-speed spindle drive as a test case. Phenomena, both mechanical and electromagnetic, that take precedence in high-speed permanent magnet machines are identified and systematized. The thesis identifies inherent speed limits of permanent magnet machines and correlates those limits with the basic parameters of the machines. The analytical expression of the limiting quantities does not only impose solid constraints on the machine design, but also creates the way for design optimization leading to the maximum mechanical and/or electromagnetic utilization of the machine. The models and electric-drive concepts developed in the thesis are evaluated in a practical setup.
