Book 69th International Symposium on Molecular Spectroscopy

Download or read book 69th International Symposium on Molecular Spectroscopy written by Ben McCall and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2014-05-21 with total page 310 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The International Symposium on Molecular Spectroscopy is the premier annual meeting in this exciting and interdisciplinary field. The symposium uniquely combines plenary talks from world leaders in the field with parallel sessions comprising shorter talks, many presented by graduate students, and fosters a collegial and collaborative atmosphere with a multitude of formal and informal interactions. Registration and housing costs are kept low to enable entire research groups to attend, and in fact most senior people in the field gave their very first conference presentation at this symposium (to a very friendly audience). A wide range of topics is covered, from theory to experiment, from gas-phase to condensed-phase, from low resolution to ultra-high resolution, from the microwave to the ultraviolet, and from fundamental science to applications such as astronomy and atmospheric science. Each year's meeting also includes three "mini-symposia" on topics of special interest.

Book Advances in Molecular Spectroscopy

Download or read book Advances in Molecular Spectroscopy written by A. Mangini and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2013-09-17 with total page 452 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Advances in Molecular Spectroscopy, Volume 3 provides information pertinent to the fundamental aspects of inorganic molecules and complexes. This book covers a variety of topics, including infrared spectrum, polyatomic ions, infrared emissions, and Raman spectra. Organized into five parts encompassing 72 chapters, this volume begins with an overview of the infrared spectrum of pyridine. This text then examines the results from studies of the infrared and Raman spectra of N2O4 in the solid and liquid phases at low temperatures. Other chapters consider the infrared spectrum of a mixture of N2O3 and N2O4, which has been studied in the liquid phase from 2 to 25 μ and in the solid phase from 2 to 35 μ, both at low temperatures. The final chapter describes the instrument developed for the measurement of rotatory dispersion and discusses some of the results obtained in the study of the complexes. This book is a valuable resource for chemists.

Book Collisional Effects on Molecular Spectra

Download or read book Collisional Effects on Molecular Spectra written by Jean-Michel Hartmann and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2021-01-12 with total page 577 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Gas phase molecular spectroscopy is a powerful tool for obtaining information on the geometry and internal structure of isolated molecules and their interactions with others. It enables the understanding and description, through measurements and modeling, of the influence of pressure on light absorption, emission, and scattering by gas molecules, which must be taken into account for the correct analysis and prediction of the resulting spectra. Collisional Effects on Molecular Spectra: Laboratory Experiments and Models, Consequences for Applications, Second Edition provides an updated review of current experimental techniques, theoretical knowledge, and practical applications. After an introduction to collisional effects on molecular spectra, the book moves on by taking a threefold approach: it highlights key models, reviews available data, and discusses the consequences for applications. These include areas such as heat transfer, remote sensing, optical sounding, metrology, probing of gas media, and climate predictions. This second edition also contains, with respect to the first one, significant amounts of new information, including 23 figures, 8 tables, and around 700 references.Drawing on the extensive experience of its expert authors, Collisional Effects on Molecular Spectra: Laboratory Experiments and Models, Consequences for Applications, Second Edition, is a valuable guide for all those involved with sourcing, researching, interpreting, or applying gas phase molecular spectroscopy techniques across a range of fields. Provides updated information on the latest advances in the field, including isolated line shapes, line-broadening and -shifting, line-mixing, the far wings and associated continua, and collision-induced absorption Reviews recently developed experimental techniques of high accuracy and sensitivity Highlights the latest practical applications in areas such as metrology, probing of gas media, and climate prediction

Download or read book Spectroscopy And Structure Of Molecules And Nuclei Proceedings Of The International Symposium written by Noah R Johnson and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 1992-11-14 with total page 408 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This proceedings is a result of the conference held in honor of Professor Raymond K Sheline for his major contributions to our understanding of the properties of both nuclei and molecules and in celebration of his 70th birthday. The proceedings contains up-to-date treatments of forefront nuclear and molecular topics such as a determination of the mass of the neutrino, the unusual properties exhibited by nuclei under the stress of very rapid rotation, the structure of very loosely bound quantum systems, and the molecular mechanism of the solar to electric conversion.

Book Molecular Spectroscopy

Download or read book Molecular Spectroscopy written by K.N. Rao and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2012-12-02 with total page 437 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Molecular Spectroscopy: Modern Research explores the advances in several phases of research in molecular spectroscopy. This eight-chapter book commemorates the 25th anniversary of the annual Columbus Symposium on Molecular Structure and Spectroscopy, held in September, 1970. This book highlights the spectroscopic studies of molecular species in the gas phase and in matrices. Representative articles are also included that cover the applications of molecular studies in a wide variety of areas such as biophysics, astrophysical problems, and energy transfer processes. Other chapters describe the progress achieved in the technology of high resolution spectroscopy and the techniques and terminology of Lamb-dip spectroscopy. A comprehensive bibliography is included for most of the subjects discussed and this text concludes with tables of standard data listing secondary wavelength standards, fundamental constants, atomic masses, and conversion factors of interest to spectroscopists. Spectroscopists, chemists, and researchers will find this work invaluable.

Book Fifth International Conference on the Spectroscopy of Biological Molecules

Download or read book Fifth International Conference on the Spectroscopy of Biological Molecules written by T. Theophanides and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 410 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The series of Conferences on the Spectroscopy of Biological Molecules aims to stimulate research and development in this area of Science. The relationship between the structure and the biological activity of such materials as proteins, lipids, and nucleic acids is fundamental. The 5th European Conference on the Spectroscopy of Biological Molecules (ECSBM) is held at the Hotel Poseidon Club, Loutraki, Greece, on 5-10 September 1993. The scientific contents are remained the same as in the past conferences. Emphasis is given to vibrational spectroscopy, mainly infrared and Raman applied to the study of structure and dynamics of proteins, nucleic acids, porphyrins, carbohydrates, membranes, etc. Most of the contributions describe molecular dynamics and excitation processes, in particular the electronic-vibrational excitations, which are studied by Fr-Raman, Fourier Transform Infrared (Fr-IR) coupled often with microscopy and chromatography. Contributions also include Fr-Raman and FT-IR instrumentation and new developments in this area, and applications in Biology and Medicine. Furthermore, there is a plenary lecture in Mass Spectrometry and its applications in biomedical analysis, and a session devoted to Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) and its application in the study of biological molecules. Several contributions are devoted to other methods, such as CD, optical absorption, fluorescence and molecular graphics simulations. This volume of ECSBM contains shon articles by the invited and contributed lectures as well as from the Poster presentations from many European and non-European countries.
