Download or read book Non Conventional Synthesis written by György Keglevich and published by Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co KG. This book was released on 2023-11-06 with total page 584 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Non-conventional synthetic methods may provide new and green methods for the preparation of bioactive heterocycles. These methods, such as microwave and ultrasound assisted synthesis, biocatalysis, photochemistry and electrosynthesis use less energy and may produce less waste to get the desired products when compared to traditional methods. This book explores the use of these methods when synthesizing various biologically relevant heterocyclic scaffolds. THE SERIES: GREEN BIOACTIVE HETEROCYCLES Heterocycles are a widely utilized group of molecules as they often contain bioactivity that is useful in drug development, agriculture, and other applications. However, their synthesis remains challenging with diffi cult to control functional groups. With a greater focus on sustainable synthesis practices, there is a need to develop greener synthetic methods for the synthesis of structurally diverse bioactive heterocyclic scaffolds. This series aims to do so, by collecting developments into common themes.

Book Lipids of Pathogenic Fungi 1996

Download or read book Lipids of Pathogenic Fungi 1996 written by Rajendra Prasad and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2017-11-22 with total page 302 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Increases in various fungal infections due to Candida, Aspergillus, Blastomyces, Histoplasma spp., and Dermatophytes have attracted interest in the biochemistry of the fungal pathogens responsible. This book discusses the importance of lipids in pathogenic fungi and how they are involved in infections that pose serious health problems. The role of lipids in dimorphism, adherence, and virulence of fungi is investigated as is their composition and metabolism. Several chapters are devoted to examinations of specific pathogenic fungi, which will be particularly useful to researchers studying the clinical manifestations of infections caused by these factors. Later chapters present possible antifungal agents and nonconventional agents that target the organisms discussed earlier. Collectively, the contributions to this volume provide an excellent overview of this field. This text is essential for practicing clinicians and for everyone involved in the important task of resolving the problems associated with fungal pathogenicity.
