Download or read book Quantum Theory And Symmetries Proceedings Of The International Symposium written by Vladimir K Dobrev and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2000-05-05 with total page 641 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume gives a representative survey of recent developments in relativistic and non-relativistic quantum theory, which are related to the application of symmetries in their most general sense. The corresponding mathematical notions are centered upon groups, algebras and their generalizations, and are applied in interaction with topology, differential geometry, functional analysis and related fields. Special emphasis is on results in the following areas: quantization methods, nonlinear evolution equations, foundation of quantum physics, algebraic quantum field theory, gauge and string theories, quantum information, quantum groups, discrete symmetries.

Book Aspects of Anomalous Transport in Plasmas

Download or read book Aspects of Anomalous Transport in Plasmas written by Radu Balescu and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2005-04-01 with total page 498 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Anomalous transport is a ubiquitous phenomenon in astrophysical, geophysical and laboratory plasmas; and is a key topic in controlled nuclear fusion research. Despite its fundamental importance and ongoing research interest, a full understanding of anomalous transport in plasmas is still incomplete, due to the complexity of the nonlinear phenomena involved. Aspects in Anomalous Transport in Plasmas is the first book to systematically consider anomalous plasma transport theory and provides a unification of the many theoretical models by emphasizing interrelations between seemingly different methodologies. It is not intended as a catalogue of the vast number of plasma instabilities leading to anomalous transport; instead it chooses a number of these and emphasizes the aspects specifically due to turbulence. After a brief introduction, the microscopic theory of turbulence is discussed, including quasilinear theory and various aspects of renormalization methods, which leads to an understanding of resonance broadening, mode coupling, trajectory correlation and clumps. The second half of the book is devoted to stochiastic tramsport, using methods based on the Langevin equations and on Random Walk theory. This treatment aims at going beyond the traditional limits of weak turbulence, by introducing the recently developed method of decorrelation trajectories, and its application to electrostatic turbulence, magnetic turbulence and zonal flow generation. The final chapter includes very recent work on the nonlocal transport phenomenon.

Book The Microscopic Theory of Superfluid He II and with Its QCE Superfluidity Mechanism Applied to Superconductors

Download or read book The Microscopic Theory of Superfluid He II and with Its QCE Superfluidity Mechanism Applied to Superconductors written by J. X. Zheng-Johansson and published by Nova Publishers. This book was released on 2004 with total page 234 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The authors introduce the full content of the Microscopic Theory of Superfluid He II, developed since 1998; also given are brief accounts of the application of one concept from the theory, the QCE1 Superfluidity Mechanism, to superconductors. One peer review report writes: "The authors include more of the underlying physics than some earlier theories, and the comparisons they make with experimental data are satisfactory". The Microscopic Theory of Superfluid He II has several important features, which distinguishes this theory from the previous theories of He II. The immense volume of information the authors have today, especially the pieces of information revealing the microscopic dynamics of the system, was not available to the developers of the previous theories in the 1930s-1940s. This book also demonstrates how the general principles of quantum mechanics and condensed matter physics can be consistently applied to a given system with confidence, once a realistic microscopic model is derived for it. It demonstrates in turn the validity of the general physics principles in such an extreme system as the quantum fluid He II.

Book Unification of Classical Quantum and Relativistic Mechanics and of the Four Forces

Download or read book Unification of Classical Quantum and Relativistic Mechanics and of the Four Forces written by J. X. Zheng-Johansson and published by Nova Publishers. This book was released on 2006 with total page 266 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this book Drs J X Zheng-Johansson and Per-Ivar Johansson present a remarkable unification scheme. The scheme is based on an analysis of the overall experimental observations available up to today, and an observation of the unsolved problems maintained in contemporary theoretical physics, revisiting past controversies and putting them in context with contemporary physics. The unsolved problems were the agent stimulating the authors to invent a new bold unification scheme. Vacuum polarisation, with a vacuuon (a pair of strongly bound opposite-signed charges) as a free entity, gets you back to the days of the ether concept, abandoned by physics after the Michelson-Morley experiment by the end of the 19:th century. Starting from constructing the fundamental building blocks for the vacuum and material particles, the Newtonian-Maxwellian solutions the authors obtain yield insights into fundamental concepts such as vacuum, charge, and mass. For instance, can vacuum be described by a building block denoted vacuuon, with or without mass depending on pushed into motion or not? Can free charges be described as a mass-less entity? Can and how vacuum polarise? However, even if vacuum in the real Universe never polarises as proposed in this unification scheme, it may yet serve as another tool in the physics toolbox, a theoretical bridge between classical and modern physics. Physics and physical theory is a human invention, a mathematical description of the intrinsic properties of the Universe and its associated phenomena. Our understanding of the Universe is a reaction of our mind, of our way of understanding. Richard Feynman once noted about the Maxwell equations something that goes like: If a mathematical theory in physics cannot be proved by experiments it remains to be proved mathematically. Ultimately, it must be possible to test any new theory by experiments. If experimental tests are not possible we are left with a mere hypothesis based on equations. The unification scheme proposed by this work consists of a Proposition about the fundamental building blocks (ap- and n-vaculeon) and a series of Predictions from Newtonian-Maxwellian solutions based on that Proposition. The arriving at the Proposition and the Predictions, relating to classical, quantum and relativistic mechanics, is their context. The book is a challenge out of the ordinary, a challenge that deserves careful consideration.
