Book excerpt: Take a TASTY TOUR with "500 Sephardic Recipes"!✩ Read this book for FREE on the Kindle Unlimited NOW! ✩The culinary scene in the United States has never been passive. In my 25 years of experience in cooking and writing, it's always been dynamic and active. Nowadays, the American food culture has become more interesting and livelier. So why don't we take a tasty tour with the book "500 Sephardic Recipes" right now! Chapter 1: Jewish Sephardi Rosh Hashana Recipes Chapter 2: Jewish Sephardi Passover Recipes Chapter 3: Jewish Sephardi Main Dish Recipes Chapter 4: Jewish Sephardi Hanukkah Recipes Chapter 5: Jewish Sephardi Bread Recipes Chapter 6: Awesome Jewish Sephardi Recipes For this cookbook series, I explored the food cultures in Asia, the Caribbean, Europe, Latin America, and North Africa. I had much interest in the so-called exotic cuisines that were quickly becoming popular. Americans were searching outside the country for inspiration and sustenance, and this curiosity was really something worth supporting. It was an awesome experience traveling the world, sampling new dishes and picking up ideas, and then trying out all I had gathered back home right in my own kitchen. Soon after I was done writing the series, I looked inward with a newfound passion for local American foods. I felt a spark burning while I was starting my book tour in the Pacific Northwest. Maybe the colorful Pacific oysters in the Pike Place Market in Seattle had to do with it. Or perhaps, it was the season's first Copper River salmon, grilled to perfection and paired with an Oregon Pinot Noir that's flowery and fruity. Or it could be my first time to sample caramelized Kasu cod at Seattle's Dahlia Lounge. I can't tell for sure. All I knew was that I had to begin writing the Cookbook "500 Sephardic Recipes"!I hope you enjoy this cookbook. You can see more recipe types such as Mashed Potato Cookbook Passover Recipes Challah Cookbook Chicken Breast Recipes Chicken Marsala Recipe Italian Jewish Cookbook German Jewish Cookbook ✩ DOWNLOAD FREE eBook (PDF) included FULL of ILLUSTRATIONS for EVERY RECIPES right after conclusion ✩I really hope that each book in the series will be always your best friend in your little kitchen.Let's live happily and have a tasty tour with the book!Enjoy the book,

Book A Legacy of Sephardic Mediterranean and American Recipes

Download or read book A Legacy of Sephardic Mediterranean and American Recipes written by Rachel Almeleh and published by LifeRich Publishing. This book was released on 2015-01-21 with total page 168 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is a collection of family favorite recipes from many cultures, Old and New World. It is intended to create a legacy and to share traditions. Cooking is nurturing, joyful, and even spiritual. Many recipes represent a heritage of Sephardic cooking. Sephardic refers to Jews who were expelled from Spain in 1492, most ending up in the Ottoman Empire. The cooking is mostly Mediterranean-style food, with many Ladino-Spanish names. The recipes can be intricate and time-consuming, but this book aims to keep the age-old tradition alive and available to future generations with how-to photos, tips, and tools for ease of preparation. Some recipes are favorites for Jewish holidays with a section just for Passover. Other recipes are thoroughly American, including Thanksgiving fare. Also included are favorites of my clients who order food like their mother used to make, from my hobby business: www.sephardicdelicacies.com.

  • Publisher : Macmillan + ORM
  • Release : 2000-09-25
  • ISBN : 1466824778
  • Pages : 570 pages

Download or read book A Drizzle of Honey written by David M. Gitlitz and published by Macmillan + ORM. This book was released on 2000-09-25 with total page 570 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When Iberian Jews were converted to Catholicism under duress during the Inquisition, many struggled to retain their Jewish identity in private while projecting Christian conformity in the public sphere. To root out these heretics, the courts of the Inquisition published checklists of koshering practices and "grilled" the servants, neighbors, and even the children of those suspected of practicing their religion at home. From these testimonies and other primary sources, Gitlitz & Davidson have drawn a fascinating, award-winning picture of this precarious sense of Jewish identity and have re-created these recipes, which combine Christian & Islamic traditions in cooking lamb, beef, fish, eggplant, chickpeas, and greens and use seasonings such as saffron, mace, ginger, and cinnamon. The recipes, and the accompanying stories of the people who created them, promise to delight the adventurous palate and give insights into the foundations of modern Sephardic cuisine.
