Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This handbook aims to serve as a one-stop, reliable source of reference, with curations of survey and expository contributions on the state-of-the-art in Blockchain technology. It covers a comprehensive range of topics, providing the technical and non-technical reader with fundamentals, applications, and deep details on a variety of topics. The readership is expected to span broadly from technologically-minded business professionals and entrepreneurs, to students, instructors, novices and seasoned researchers, in computer science, engineering, software engineering, finance, and data science. Though Blockchain technology is relatively young, its evolution as a field and a practice is booming in growth and its importance to society had never been more important than it is today. Blockchain solutions enable a decentralization of a digital society where people can contribute, collaborate, and transact without having to second-guess the trust and transparency factors with many geographical, financial, and political barriers removed. It is the distributed ledger technology behind the success of Bitcoin, Ethereum, and many emerging applications. The resource is divided into 5 parts. Part 1 (Foundation) walks the reader through a comprehensive set of essential concepts, protocols, and algorithms that lay the foundation for Blockchain. Part 2 (Scalability) focuses on the most pressing challenges of today’s blockchain networks in how to keep pace with real-world expectations. Part 3 (Trust and Security) provides detailed coverage on the issues of trust, reputation, and security in Blockchain. Part 4 (Decentralized Finance) is devoted to a high-impact application of Blockchain to finance, the sector that has most benefitted from this technology. Part 5 (Application and Policy) includes several cases where Blockchain applies to the real world.

Book Green Machine Learning Protocols for Future Communication Networks

Download or read book Green Machine Learning Protocols for Future Communication Networks written by Saim Ghafoor and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2023-10-25 with total page 249 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Machine learning has shown tremendous benefits in solving complex network problems and providing situation and parameter prediction. However, heavy resources are required to process and analyze the data, which can be done either offline or using edge computing but also requires heavy transmission resources to provide a timely response. The need here is to provide lightweight machine learning protocols that can process and analyze the data at run time and provide a timely and efficient response. These algorithms have grown in terms of computation and memory requirements due to the availability of large data sets. These models/algorithms also require high levels of resources such as computing, memory, communication, and storage. The focus so far was on producing highly accurate models for these communication networks without considering the energy consumption of these machine learning algorithms. For future scalable and sustainable network applications, efforts are required toward designing new machine learning protocols and modifying the existing ones, which consume less energy, i.e., green machine learning protocols. In other words, novel and lightweight green machine learning algorithms/protocols are required to reduce energy consumption which can also reduce the carbon footprint. To realize the green machine learning protocols, this book presents different aspects of green machine learning for future communication networks. This book highlights mainly the green machine learning protocols for cellular communication, federated learning-based models, and protocols for Beyond Fifth Generation networks, approaches for cloud-based communications, and Internet-of-Things. This book also highlights the design considerations and challenges for green machine learning protocols for different future applications.

Book Design Innovation and Network Architecture for the Future Internet

Download or read book Design Innovation and Network Architecture for the Future Internet written by Boucadair, Mohamed and published by IGI Global. This book was released on 2021-04-16 with total page 478 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For the past couple of years, network automation techniques that include software-defined networking (SDN) and dynamic resource allocation schemes have been the subject of a significant research and development effort. Likewise, network functions virtualization (NFV) and the foreseeable usage of a set of artificial intelligence techniques to facilitate the processing of customers’ requirements and the subsequent design, delivery, and operation of the corresponding services are very likely to dramatically distort the conception and the management of networking infrastructures. Some of these techniques are being specified within standards developing organizations while others remain perceived as a “buzz” without any concrete deployment plans disclosed by service providers. An in-depth understanding and analysis of these approaches should be conducted to help internet players in making appropriate design choices that would meet their requirements as well as their customers. This is an important area of research as these new developments and approaches will inevitably reshape the internet and the future of technology. Design Innovation and Network Architecture for the Future Internet sheds light on the foreseeable yet dramatic evolution of internet design principles and offers a comprehensive overview on the recent advances in networking techniques that are likely to shape the future internet. The chapters provide a rigorous in-depth analysis of the promises, pitfalls, and other challenges raised by these initiatives, while avoiding any speculation on their expected outcomes and technical benefits. This book covers essential topics such as content delivery networks, network functions virtualization, security, cloud computing, automation, and more. This book will be useful for network engineers, software designers, computer networking professionals, practitioners, researchers, academicians, and students looking for a comprehensive research book on the latest advancements in internet design principles and networking techniques.
