Book excerpt: 90 Days to Love the Body You Have Right Now Does the way you feel about your body stop you enjoying parts of your life? Do you criticise your own own body when you see it in the mirror or catch in from different angles in shop windows? Have you ever cried in a changing room when shopping for new jeans? Do you shudder at the idea of wearing swimwear on holiday or to the local pool? Have you ever edited or cropped photos of yourself before sharing them or tried to avoid having your photo taken at all? Do you crash diet before you go on holidays or to a wedding? Social media is awash with influencers telling us to love our bodies but many of us are wondering how on earth we're meant to like, or even accept our bodies, when we're being told from all angles that something isn't right about them and needs to be changed. Whether it's thigh gaps, body hair, 'mum tums', visible abs, buns of steel, or any other part of our body society decides to pick apart. This 90-day body image planner is designed to help you move from a place of hating your body, to a place of respecting and accepting your body, while also recognising that you are so much more than your appearance. By the end of the 90 days, your body image will no longer hold you back from the parts of life you've been missing out on. This 90-day planner is split into three sections of daily journal prompts: 1. Body Neutrality - Shifting your focus away from your physical appearance and onto the other parts of what makes you, you. 2. Body Acceptance - Learning how to show your body respect and compassion and reach a place of peaceful acceptance with it. 3. Body Confidence - Reaching the stage where we don't let our appearance or, more accurately, the thoughts we have about our appearance, hold us back from enjoying the life we want. Each section starts with coaching exercises and has 30 days of daily planner pages. The daily planner pages are tailored to the goals of each section and all the daily planner pages have space for recording your mood and gratitude journaling. Logging your mood each day is useful for highlighting the link between your body image and your mood. For example, when we're happy about something, we may be less focused on our bodies, and our body image can impact our mood, we may feel sad, anxious or withdrawn on days where we feel low about our bodies. A daily gratitude practice can help interrupt the seemingly never-ending stream of anxious thinking when our stress levels are too high (known as ruminating). The simple act of taking 1 minute each day to write down three things you're grateful for (even small things like the weather, or someone letting you out of a busy junction) can really improve your mood, help put negative events into perspective and remind you that life does have beauty in it, even in depths of the toughest of times. Book Non Pharmacological Interventions

Download or read book Non Pharmacological Interventions written by Gregory Ninot and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020-11-27 with total page 294 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Non-pharmacological interventions (NPIs) have become essential solutions for better living, preventing disease, and self-care, in addition to biomedical treatments, and for increasing longevity without loss of quality of life. Over the past 20 years, these practices have gone from general diet and hygiene advice to targeted and personalized solutions for prevention, care optimization, and curative treatments. Selected empirically for centuries or recently with the help of technological innovations and epigenetic, interventional, and medico-economic studies, their development is growing and diversifying around the world. Today an NPI ecosystem is made up of a myriad of public and private actors. As interest in NPIs grows, so do questions about safety, effectiveness, standardization, ethical practice, and surveillance. In this book, the author answers these questions with a scientific approach, because evidence-based science, evidence-based practice, clinical research, and data monitoring have revolutionized this field. Topics explored among the chapters include: · Defining Non-Pharmacological Interventions · The Benefits and Dangers of Non-Pharmacological Interventions · Motives and Facilitators of Non-Pharmacological Intervention Use · The Market for Non-Pharmacological Interventions · Evaluation of Non-Pharmacological Interventions · The Future of Non-Pharmacological Interventions Non-Pharmacological Interventions: An Essential Answer to Current Demographic, Health, and Environmental Transitions is a must-have resource for clinicians and other health professionals, researchers, students, health insurers, policy-makers, caregivers, and entrepreneurs in the health and wellness space, as well as any users who wish to inform themselves about NPIs.

Book The Unsuccessful Champion

Download or read book The Unsuccessful Champion written by Demario Davis and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2019-10-04 with total page 151 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Having grown up in an impoverished environment, Demario Davis found himself leading a life filled with drugs, alcohol, violence, and eventually, jail. With the odds against him at every turn, he continued to pursue his dream of making a name for himself in the NFL. But when given a divine warning that he was dangerously close to hitting his final strike, he began searching for something greater. Journey with him as he shares his story of finding what it means to become a true champion in the midst of what the world may deem defeat. “If you’ve ever had the chance to meet Demario, you will truly understand the common phrase ‘force of nature.’ This title is normally reserved for athletes who are so powerful and agile that it’s overwhelming; you can’t stop it. Demario is like that on the field, but his joy, character, and passion for life might be his most powerful attributes. This book reminds us all that there’s something greater we live for. This might not always show up on a scoreboard or in a bank account, but our wins and losses do not have to define us. God’s call on our lives is the most important. Demario’s life is evidence of this exact thing. This book will be a blessing to anybody who is trying to make a difference in this world. I highly recommend it.” Carl Lentz, lead pastor of Hillsong East Coast “Demario’s story is one that will inspire, encourage, and challenge anyone who reads it. This book is a powerful story from an incredible man, whose faith in God will impact generations to come.” Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints quarterback “It speaks volumes when people who have money, power, and influence take time out of their busy lives to focus on the things that matter most. I’m looking forward to seeing what Demario creates off the field through his new book and the insights he’s found through his journey.” Andy Mineo, rapper
