Book Applications of Power Electronics

Download or read book Applications of Power Electronics written by Frede Blaabjerg and published by MDPI. This book was released on 2019-06-24 with total page 500 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Power electronics technology is still an emerging technology, and it has found its way into many applications, from renewable energy generation (i.e., wind power and solar power) to electrical vehicles (EVs), biomedical devices, and small appliances, such as laptop chargers. In the near future, electrical energy will be provided and handled by power electronics and consumed through power electronics; this not only will intensify the role of power electronics technology in power conversion processes, but also implies that power systems are undergoing a paradigm shift, from centralized distribution to distributed generation. Today, more than 1000 GW of renewable energy generation sources (photovoltaic (PV) and wind) have been installed, all of which are handled by power electronics technology. The main aim of this book is to highlight and address recent breakthroughs in the range of emerging applications in power electronics and in harmonic and electromagnetic interference (EMI) issues at device and system levels as discussed in ‎robust and reliable power electronics technologies, including fault prognosis and diagnosis technique stability of grid-connected converters and ‎smart control of power electronics in devices, microgrids, and at system levels.

Book excerpt: This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 6th International Conference on Runtime Verification, RV 2015, held in Vienna, Austria, in September 2015. The 15 revised full papers presented together with 4 short papers, 2 tool papers, 4 tutorials, 3 invited talks, and 2 software competition papers were carefully reviewed and selected from 45 submissions. The discussion of the conference centers around two main aspects. The first is to understand wether the runtime verification techniques can practically complement the traditional methods proving programs correct before their execution, such as model checking and theorem proving. The second concerns with formal methods and how their application can improve traditional ad-hoc monitoring techniques used in performance monitoring, hardware design emulation and simulation, etc.

Book Handbook of Research on Automated Feature Engineering and Advanced Applications in Data Science

Download or read book Handbook of Research on Automated Feature Engineering and Advanced Applications in Data Science written by Panda, Mrutyunjaya and published by IGI Global. This book was released on 2021-01-08 with total page 392 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In today’s digital world, the huge amount of data being generated is unstructured, messy, and chaotic in nature. Dealing with such data, and attempting to unfold the meaningful information, can be a challenging task. Feature engineering is a process to transform such data into a suitable form that better assists with interpretation and visualization. Through this method, the transformed data is more transparent to the machine learning models, which in turn causes better prediction and analysis of results. Data science is crucial for the data scientist to assess the trade-offs of their decisions regarding the effectiveness of the machine learning model implemented. Investigating the demand in this area today and in the future is a necessity. The Handbook of Research on Automated Feature Engineering and Advanced Applications in Data Science provides an in-depth analysis on both the theoretical and the latest empirical research findings on how features can be extracted and transformed from raw data. The chapters will introduce feature engineering and the recent concepts, methods, and applications with the use of various data types, as well as examine the latest machine learning applications on the data. While highlighting topics such as detection, tracking, selection techniques, and prediction models using data science, this book is ideally intended for research scholars, big data scientists, project developers, data analysts, and computer scientists along with practitioners, researchers, academicians, and students interested in feature engineering and its impact on data.

Book Model Based Design of Adaptive Embedded Systems

Download or read book Model Based Design of Adaptive Embedded Systems written by Twan Basten and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-03-15 with total page 314 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book describes model-based development of adaptive embedded systems, which enable improved functionality using the same resources. The techniques presented facilitate design from a higher level of abstraction, focusing on the problem domain rather than on the solution domain, thereby increasing development efficiency. Models are used to capture system specifications and to implement (manually or automatically) system functionality. The authors demonstrate the real impact of adaptivity on engineering of embedded systems by providing several industrial examples of the models used in the development of adaptive embedded systems.

Book From Prognostics and Health Systems Management to Predictive Maintenance 1

Download or read book From Prognostics and Health Systems Management to Predictive Maintenance 1 written by Rafael Gouriveau and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2016-10-14 with total page 164 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book addresses the steps needed to monitor health assessment systems and the anticipation of their failures: choice and location of sensors, data acquisition and processing, health assessment and prediction of the duration of residual useful life. The digital revolution and mechatronics foreshadowed the advent of the 4.0 industry where equipment has the ability to communicate. The ubiquity of sensors (300,000 sensors in the new generations of aircraft) produces a flood of data requiring us to give meaning to information and leads to the need for efficient processing and a relevant interpretation. The process of traceability and capitalization of data is a key element in the context of the evolution of the maintenance towards predictive strategies.
